I just realized something. Today is a national holiday, so there's probably no one in the offices to FUP anyone to begin with O_O

Time to abuse the connection!

It is automatic :)
I called the sales today to check if they will give me the 4mbps. They said my line can't handle it, however the tech support made a test about two weeks ago and told me it can handle 8mbps. Therefore they are nothing but a bunch of liars.
If ogero doesn't upgrade the COs they then ISPs (probably except sodetel) can't give more than 4 Mbps.. i don't know how much leeway IDM has with regards to this issue...
I didn't ask for more than 4mbps.
What is your speed now, line Attenuation and snr margin?

Attenuation: down: 44 up: 31 SNR: down: 17 up: 33

The down SNR is around 33 dB using another modem.
Theorically you could get 4 Mbps easily. However, I have seen people with better stats than you (down Attenuation in the 30) and they refused to give them 4mbps. I think it also depends on the CO

It does depend on COs. I can have 4mbps yet CO not equipped to deliver.

The CO is already equipped with speeds higher than 4mbps, a friend of mine already have a 4mbps (old plans) before the upgrade, we're from the same CO. Some of them, their CO really isn't equipped with such speeds, but mostly it is due to Ogero refusing to give you your desired speed simply because they can, unless you know someone from their side.

Distance from CO matters too. Plays a big role. Further you are the worse the connection.
I know, but I am not too far from the CO, about 2.0km and my router's results are more than a proof that it can easily handle the speed I requested.

I see. Am 4km away so no can do for me. Also I discovered that Broadcom based Routers are best suited for our crappy Internet. Anything else might cause issues. Like I got an extremely fast router but doesn't have Broadcom chip, therefore I get a lot of disconnections.
On the Thomson I get a better down SNR, on the Linksys which I am currently using, the down SNR is lower by 12/19 dB but no disconnections at all and it is running pretty well even if it shows a low SNR sometimes.

Which Linksys do you have? I got the X3500 has slow UI Unusable cost me $150 for nothing. Doesn't even have external Antennas #Fail
I have the X3000 which can be used as both modem/router, the UI isn't bad, but for it's price, it should've been a better overall router. Got it for $155 back then. I am thinking of getting the Billion 7800dxl.

Am thinking of buying whatever router has Broadcom chip with 3 Antennas coz I live in a villa need range.

Attenuation is related to distance, the higher the bigger the distance :)

Buy any modem with a broadcom chip and don't use it as router. I have a Linksys X1000 as a modem (also i have the Technicolor from IDM), both have similar stats. For the router, i have an Asus Ac68u, extremely powerful (dual core), i can stream HD movies from PC to TV using chromecast and surf the internet on multiple devices on the same time and the router doesn't bulge..
Those dual modem/routers are moderate at best.
Yeah well so far I have bought 3 routers can't keep buying. Need something cheap. And don't like to have 2 devices when I can have one. I too can stream movies from my HTPC to iPad easy. Am talking 20gb+ BluRay rips here on my TP-Link W8940 router modem. I only have issues with disconnections. Every now n again.
Honestly after the big disappointment from IDM today, it is really not worthy getting a fancy one.
