Quick question :
I had a mistake in my phone number that I wrote on my delivery address on 2 orders from aliexpress ( the mistake is that I added 00961 and I didn't know that they automatically add it to the number so now the phone number in my delivery address reads 00961 00961 xxxxxx). Will that cause me any trouble with libanpost?
Thank you

I think that will be fine since the person viewing it is not a robot but human.

They're most likely fake Chinese copies of Razer..
My laptop's 160GB HDD is full, so I'm looking into buying a new one. As I've been searching, apparently external HDDs are cheaper, but I'm not sure if I should pay less for less portability... I saw a Western Digital WDBUZG0010BBK-EESN (1TB - USB 3.0 - 5400rpm) here in Lebanon for 100,000LBP. On AliExpress I just stumbled upon a whopping 42$ 2TB USB 2.0 10,000rpm from Samsung:

As my laptop doesn't have a USB 3.0 port, this seems to be a good deal.
I looked for the model number but it's not provided, do you think this might be a fraud ?
Adnan - it is a scam. Do not buy it, you will get few bricks inside case.
This reseller doesnt have any reputation.

Okay, thanks man.
There's also this one but it's only 20,000LBP cheaper than the WD one I saw in Lebanon, so I think I'm going to stick with the WD.

This might be off-topic here, but a quick question: would you recommend an internal or external hard drive ? Is any more durable than the other ?
4 days later
okay, so i have ordered more than 40 orders in early january. I received 25. Would like to share my experience. I bought 5 make-up items from a single seller, received 2. Ordered 4 fabrics from another one, received 1. Ordered 2 slippers got 1. Ordered 4 key locators got 1. Ordered 6 fake flower bouquets, got 3. Ordered 15 accessories got 7. Ordered 3 dresses got 1. Ordered 6 bags of crystal soil, got 2. Ordered 4 US flash drives got 1. 80% of what i received was incomplete. The rest of my orders arrived complete, but some were broken in pieces, unusable, to be thrown in trash. I opened a dispute with each of the sellers and to my surprise almost all of them assured me that someone else must have opened the parcel before me and taken some goods. And to support their claim they told me to check the weight mentioned on the outside of the package, that's the official weight when shipped from china post airmail (which complies with the weight they registered in their warehouses too! supported by photos), and they were right, the weight written digitally on packages is more than the weight of the goods that i received and weighed here at home. So all the sellers actually did ship correct amounts, and they wouldn't sacrifice their reputation and buyer feedback (which matters a lot to their business) for a dollar or two. I asked around and everyone who buys from aliexpress is having the same exact problem, but they have ordered only 1 or 2 orders and thought they were just unlucky with dishonest sellers or whatnot. The conclusion is that the stealing is happening at the Lebanese Airport Customs. And i'm pretty sure they are doing it on purpose so people would stop buying from aliexpress. They are stealing many packages and i noticed some parcels i received are almost wide open didn't even need both hands to open them, and some were resealed in a funny way, as to say to us "we are stealing, and we don't even care if you realize it". Talk about our right to receive our goods? Will it lead anywhere? Go figure.
@JoannaJabado you might be right concerning " doing it on purpose to stop Lebanese from buying via aliexpress ", for instance i stopped when shipping started taking more than 2 months which sucks
Stealing wow that's the first time someone mentions that. That's a serious allegation.

What did you do to tackle this? You need to check it with Libanpost and they should help you deal with it. You should not let it slide, but you will need tangible proof.

What I've learned about the delay at the customs is that there are only two customs agents who are not being able to handle the quantities coming in from china. The question is why they're not doing anything to fix this? And most of all, what can we do to make them fix it faster.

Oh well. Then they succeeded. I found an MTV News report about Aliexpress in Lebanon. It turns out that by August 2014 more than 45,000 Chinese parcels were being received at the airport "Monthly", yes monthly. I think by now March 2015 it has doubled already since Aliexpress is becoming more popular. That won't last for long, they are making sure it won't. No wonder they are doing their best to lower that number. Because they are working a lot. They might as well hve a blast at some free shopping! What a joke.

Two customs agents? Hard to believe. As in the post I just posted 5 minutes ago, 45,000 Chinese parcels, only Chinese, arrive to the airport each single month, two agents would need till 2018 to release that number to Libanpost. There must be a least a hundred customs agents working on the clock. And yes, I have proof: Digital weight. Well I find it really impossible to accuse Libanpost because they would automatically take the responsibility off their shoulders by saying that the airport customs are the ones who might open packages not Libanpost. And of course even if you provide proof of weight to Lebanese customs they would say we never steal, and of course throw blames on Libanpost or even Chinese airmail. Back and forth. Trust me this has not, is not, and will not lead anywhere. Never. And they couldn't care less, they want us to know we are being robbed. That's their purpose so people would stop buying electronically.
When a package is opened it is opened in a collaboration between the Customs and Libanpost and there are cameras in the room. Additionally you know that a package was opened in Beirut when you have the sticker with Libanpost. If the package was broken or mishandled you receive a letter with the reason.

I find it hard to believe that there's been stealing going on. Not saying it's impossible, but if it happened to you, you need to contact Libanpost and follow up on it. Do it for science!
The parcels coming from china do not travel directly to Lebanon. They make several stops in different countries. Sometimes they go to Europe or India or any county.. so blaming the Lebanese customs because of the weight is not convincing. As chosen2k said there cameras all over the customs warehouse, i have been there. Unless a visual proof, i wouldn't believe..
If you are sure about it try calling 1544 or 7ake jales they might help.
