Man do you know what will be the price!?
Retail is $600 in Lebanon for the 16GB version. No word about the 8GB version.
It's $299 for the 8GB and $349 for the 16GB version on Google Play.

Got mine from Amazon, with SnS (Shop and Ship)

If you really want the phone, might want to check it out from there. For the specs, it's worth it.

Took 5 days to get to me after it was shipped from SnS USA.

Weird, I have just asked and have been told that getting a phone shipped here needs papers from the Ministry of Telecommunications, else it's subject to a "bayan".

What was the item description? And what were the fees you paid? Any more information you could help us out with?

Thank you.

Yeah and as "yasamoka" said please provide us with all the details!
I was also looking for it on eBay and decided not to go for it since I don't know how to!
The phone costed around $515 + shipping to the address of SnS in New York.
I got it from a 3rd party seller on Amazon.

3 - 4 days after that, I received it in beirut, had to pay 144,000 LBP Customs + (Aramex Handling = 11,000 LBP ) + (VAT on Handling = 1,100 LBP) = 156,000 LBP. Which is $104 (Only customs and VAT.)

Shipping for SnS is 11$ for the first Kilo, and didn't weight more than that, + I got the "Protection Service from SnS" which comes out to be 1$ on every 100 // $500 phone, $5 protection service. That means if the phone is lost in Aramex's custody, I get full refund of shipping and value of phone.

So in Total - I paid around 515 + 16 + 104 = $635 - and worth every penny of it. No bayan no ministry of telecom no nothing. They just steal from you.

I wouldn't advise you to use DHL or Any of that crap as they take a lot in handling when it comes to customs.

In Amazon, when you search for Nexus 4 - you will find the main price of the phone.. somewhere under there you'll find "New and refurbished". This is where you should look for new as this is what I meant by third party resellers. In case you decide to buy from them, make sure they have positive feedback. not less than 98%.

As for SnS - you can go to www.shopandship.com and get a lifetime membership for 45$ / addresses in US | UK | CHINA.

Here is an example of what the shipping also looks like after it's received in SnS USA -

Hope I was helpful enough, let me know if you need any more info.

Why go through all this headache ?

There is a company in Sin El Fil called D.O.T ... I bought my ASUS infinity Tablet from them, they take 12.5% and they buy it for you n take care of all the boring details, all you gotta do is send them a link from where they can buy it for you like NewEgg or Amazon... Will take 30 days .. Ok a bit longer but on the bright side it's much cheaper that way...

My ASUS tablet was $480 on Newegg after arriving here cost me like $600 ... D.O.T makes you pay like 30% of price as down payment then the rest on delivery ... So you won't loose much ...

Am getting Nexus 4 16gb through them next month... So with everything paid will come to $420 and NOT $550 n $600 xD

Just a heads up is all ;)
can you please post a link to their webpage or their exact address?

Their website has bad email addresses so I will give you the Operations Manager's card Charbel I contact him directly. They are located in the Lotto Building next to the Hayek Bridge.

Best of luck ;)
What about customs and vat? Is it included in the 12.5% you pay them?

Here is an excerpt from an e-mail I got from them :
Shipping weight based on $12.5/KG + item purchase cost in usa and the whole total multiplied X 12.5 %

I forgot about weight sorry bout that ... But that's it, nothing extra you have to pay ...

For Nexus 4 16gb : (as quoted from D.O.T email)
Here is an estimation about how much it might cost you landed Lebanon :

$350 X 9% US sales tax = $382 + $13 shipping within usa to our warehouse in California Total landed cost = $395 + $13 ( shipping from USA To Leb ) X 12.5 % = $460 You can send us the $150 down payment via OMT or Western union.

NOT some $550 or $600 like was mentioned above by samdib87 that's like $150 to $200 too expensive ! xD

As to the delivery time on that specific phone, due to lack of availability : (as quoted from D.O.T email)
The average delivery time will be around 2 months more or less.
Now you know ;)

Hope this clears things up for you ;)

You can't buy a nexus 4 through google play store without a US Credit Card. I tried before purchasing from amazon. Besides, I am not the type to wait a month or two for a phone, if I wanted to wait that long, I would have waited till it becomes available here.

Unless they have a US card, then the prices above are wrong. If they do, and you don't mind waiting a month or two for a phone (I waited 6 days) then that's the faster choice.

In all cases, it's available here now. I'd rather do things myself then get someone to do it for me, and the prices are without VAT I think above. the vat system (customs) don't look at the receipt. they just guess the price of the item. I received my Guild Wars 2 (48$) worth today, and paid 18$ customs. God I hate this country.
Also, when you get an SnS account, you can buy from USA / UK / China / UAE.. :)

Yeah, I am the kind that prefers waiting for however long it will take as long as I get it at half the price it will be here. I am not the kind that has a ton of money to throw around you know.

Also, I am not the one that buys the item, they do from their US office. That's the nice part of the service. I do not have to do more than pay 30% down payment and rest upon delivery. They take care of the rest form their US office not from here.

As for doing things myself, in that specific case I'd rather not, too many things to worry about. Besides, the price I mentioned includes US sales Tax of 9%, $12.5/kg for shipping and the 12.5% commission.

So no account, Credit Card, or monthly/yearly fees to worry about. SO Nexus 4 will be here April and I paid $460 instead of $700 here and $550 UAE xD

Am satisfied :P
What's with the hostility, this forum I believe is for sharing experiences and helping out as much as we can no? No one in Lebanon has enough money to throw around you know. other than the people with rich papis and mamis.

Well, as long as you're satisfied. FYI, no monthly / yearly fees. and definitely not 700$. Everyone has his own opinion in things.

Out of curiosity, if you receive a defective item from them, what is the process then?

Reason I ask is because I received an item once which was defective, and they shipped it back for 11$ from my home to US and return.

Also, the N4 is 550$ here, not UAE.

In all cases, make sure there are no VAT with them, because you'd end up paying more than what I did and more than what you'd get it for from here. Or any other product for that matter.

Sorry did not mean to sound hostile.

It's just that stock here is scary, I have had the misfortune of buying an HTC Phone back in 2010 and it was defective, only shop refused to refund my money or to replace it. I do not trust it here and have built a hatered towards anything Tech related.

That said, I have never gotten any defective product from the US thus far, which explains why I prefer that route. Also where did you find the N4 ? I looked at Class, Khoury Cell, Private Cell and many other places, they either never heard of it, or they don't have it n promise a summer release.

I live in Ain Saadeh, I don't drive, so I also think of practicality. If the only shops that do have it are in Dahieh or further, I don't think I can. So yeah, getting it from the US for cheaper with international warranty, is what I prefer.

On another note, if I receive a defective product, DOT promises to do the RMA at no extra cost, but obviously that will take quite a long time, a month or 2 So yeah, if you are the type of person that cannot wait, it would be better if you got it from a place here that you trust. My problem as I mentioned before is that I can't trust technology here.

As for VAT, I have bought my ASUS Transformer Infinity Tablet through them, was $478 at Newegg, landed in Lebanon, after VAT, and all other service fees, I ended up paying $620. Not a heck of a whole lot if you ask me. Plus that Tab does not nor will it ever exist here. So, they are not expensive and are cheaper than going through any other services. Only down side is the 30 to 90 day wait, which depends on availability more than anything else.

Finally, I have never forced my opinion on anyone, was just stating my preference. Sorry again if it came out the wrong way. I was also sharing an extra option for people like me that they can use.

On that bombshell it's the end of my post ;)

hi guys:
i got attracted here by the discussion going on. Thanks techxero on the good review - we strive to keep our customers happy!
I am affiliated with DOT, and would like to tell you that google just shipped us 4 phones to our US address (2x8gb and 2x16gb), will have them in Lebanon in about 10 days. Anyone interested can email us or call at the above-mentioned contact info and reserve one.
You will be able to test it and make sure it is not defective before picking it up - so don't worry about that. Prices are $430 and $480 (TTC).

On another note, we have weekly shipments from the US, so the clearing, bayan, ministry etc..we already have to pay them for our shipments anyway....so we pass most of the savings to you....on any item valued at more than $700 from say....amazon...it would be cheaper for you to send it to our address (or have us buy it for you) and get it with our weekly shipments, than getting it direclty to Lebanon and paying the bayan fees for that item.

Hey Gaby :

I know who you are, you more than welcome for review. I am Steve, the guy that bought the ASUS Infinity Tab from you guys, also am your neighbor in the building, You say you going to have 4 of them in 10 days ? Well my sister is coming from Dubai getting me one with her, if she doesn't can you reserve a 16gb model for me just in case ?

Also if you accept Credit Cards, would be more convenient for me.

Thanks a lot ;)
