Hey man I just emailed/messaged you :-)gabk wrotehi guys:
i got attracted here by the discussion going on. Thanks techxero on the good review - we strive to keep our customers happy!
I am affiliated with DOT, and would like to tell you that google just shipped us 4 phones to our US address (2x8gb and 2x16gb), will have them in Lebanon in about 10 days. Anyone interested can email us or call at the above-mentioned contact info and reserve one.
You will be able to test it and make sure it is not defective before picking it up - so don't worry about that. Prices are $430 and $480 (TTC).
On another note, we have weekly shipments from the US, so the clearing, bayan, ministry etc..we already have to pay them for our shipments anyway....so we pass most of the savings to you....on any item valued at more than $700 from say....amazon...it would be cheaper for you to send it to our address (or have us buy it for you) and get it with our weekly shipments, than getting it direclty to Lebanon and paying the bayan fees for that item.

I always wanted to import things from USA but end up buying anything available here!
On a side note, and without hijacking this thread, but since you like Asus, did you see the latest asus padfone infinity!? Damn this thing is amazing!

Ok guys so I'm gonna post here instead of creating a new thread.
A small history with some hard lessons that I learned:
-My previous phone was Galaxy S2
-I hate touchwiz and used CM9/10/10.1
-So I said let's try the galaxy nexus instead (that would be more logical)
-Did a search and read on XDA and I found a lot lot of issues like screen flickering, white showing grey, charging issues, mini USB port issues, phone shuts down by itself, wifi issues, signal issues, etc...
-I was afraid but nonetheless I bought one, and I had very bad screen so I couldn't live with it and sold it although I loved the phone
-Months later I got bored with my S2 and gave galaxy nexus another try. This time I had charging issues, mini USB port issues, phone shuts down by itself... So I couldn't live with it and unfortunately sold it once again.
-Now I got an S3
-Love the phone overall and the battery life and the screen, but this phone has serious RAM issues. With stock rom and without any apps installed I had about 150 free ram! Once I install some apps it can get down to 80 or 70 mb free ram and phone will get seriously laggy.
Searching and reading about it on XDA I discovered it's a known issue and I created a thread: <<<HERE>>>
-Now also using CM10.1 which is a bit better on RAM (without samsung crap)
-Now with this RAM issue I am seriously thinking about the LG nexus 4: I love pure android and it has 2GB ram.
I can live without FM radio, SD card or even a little less battery life.
-However after reading a bit on XDA I am literally frightened about this one:
Can get very hot, thermal throtelling (both due to very bad cooling system, heat dissipation etc...), lags, wifi issues, phone turns off by itself, bluetooth not turning on, freezes and crashes, and this weird freeky issue: when charging the phone or even sometimes by itself, it reboots and hangs on intro (bootloop) and doesn't work again unless you reflash the stock rom!!!
Sorry for this long essay :-P but does anyone actually has a Nexus 4?!
Can he give us a detailed real life review?! Any issues?!

Wow buddy, that is true bad luck.Sorry for this long essay :-P but does anyone actually has a Nexus 4?!

Well, I know quite a few friends of mine on Twitter that have the Nexus 4, none of whom have had any of the issues you have described. The only recurring issue on almost all N4 devices is the touch delay which, from what I have read, has been fixed via a CM10.1 ROM.
Other than that all is good. You seem to be one of the rare few that suffer from the extreme bad luck.
Hope this clarifies things.

Well I hope it's not bad luck because I was thankfully lucky with my S2 and consider myself also lucky with my S3.
Hope the best.
Hope someone has it and can give us a review!

All I can say is, even if someone has it with no issues, still will not guarantee that yours will be with or without any. It's one of them uncertainties that come with every purchase of any item from abroad.
Edit :
It's here !!!!

Hey TechXero my nexus 4 is finally here! :)
Anyone knows where we can get a good cover for this baby?!
I only found at CLASS a transparent one bcz it keeps the nice looks of the phone however it doesn't protect the upper part (bezzel) nor the lower part of the phone! So i didn't get it now and still looking for other options!
Did somebody stumble on the official bumper anywhere here?!?
Thanks

Loving my nexus 4 on paranoid android.no issues whatsoever.
Paranoid ? Really ? Why not have the best of all worlds ? Try XenonHD ... Me n LifeEngineer both got it n it's the best out there with features from PA, AOKP, CM10.1 and more ...Loving my nexus 4 on paranoid android.no issues whatsoever.
Let me know :P
I used the thing today. Seemed amazingly smooth. I am dying for one. But I don't want to loose my S Pen, camera, battery life and storage expansion of my Note 2 :(
Well it sure is... Plus awesome battery life with the right Kernel n settings... Ok bad Camera not too bad for me as you will see in my upcoming video which I shot with it. As for S-Pen Meh...AvoK95 wroteI used the thing today. Seemed amazingly smooth. I am dying for one. But I don't want to loose my S Pen, camera, battery life and storage expansion of my Note 2 :(
Anyway if you get one let us know :-P
The camera compared with my Note 2 wasn't that bad, considering it costs exactly half of what mine costs. The S-Pen is very handy for me, as I just screenshot things and show my clients what to do with their phone/PC. I tried to use my 16GB internal storage, but it just didn't work out. My songs alone took half of the EMMC alone. I don't care that much about battery life. I don't even care about the camera either. Nor the S-Pen, because you can still get that functionality via app or something. But the only reason I am not getting the Nexus, is that it doesn't have any 32/64GB version and is not expandable. Leaving me hanging and killing myself for not getting it >_<
Just for music ... Ok ... If you like music that much ... I have 0 music, 0 movies. So am just fine ... I do put an album or 2 on there which I delete once am bored with them. I learned how to manage things thanks to the Joke called Mobi ... Yeah I have been with Mobi since 2008 simply because since coming back to Leb from 10 years of absence due to war, I have never had a phone line at home... Still don't so Mobi is my only means for Internet. And with their 5GB monthly limit I learned how to manage xDAvoK95 wroteThe camera compared with my Note 2 wasn't that bad, considering it costs exactly half of what mine costs. But oh well ...
I tried quite a few roms. Didnt wanna stray far from stock as i have noticed it is the smoothest out there. Offcourse thats brcause the clock speed is agrrssive and it doesnt have to scale like in other roms with custon lernels. I wanted a rom that can give me a full screen experience with stock smoothness and paranoid android did that before i could try some other roms. Pac man was on the list as well.TechXero wroteParanoid ? Really ? Why not have the best of all worlds ? Try XenonHD ... Dude, what I highly recommend, seeing that you prefer Stock look, is to stay as far away from "Android Development" section since those mean mostly built on unofficial builds of AOSP or stock.djunited wroteI tried quite a few roms. Just stay inside "Original Android Development" section, coz all ROMs in there are built on the device's official firmware. And do try XenonHD it is just amazing ! Developer just released an app that will backup all the ROM's settings, so you needn't worry about having to do all the setting up all over again. Just backup and restore done !
Anyway have fun :P

I agree, it is a nice ROM that merges 3 ROMs.bosspolo wroteif u have any question, any problem just ask me , the best rom till now that have everything from (p.a ,cm , aokp) all mixed in great rom called pac man u can find it here ,

But I have to disagree, as well, since the developer of PacMan just merged the 3 ROMs. Plus, it is built on an "Unofficial" build of Android. By "Unofficial", I mean to the Nexus 4. It's using a build not made for the device, but rather a separate build. Heck, all 3 ROMs were not meant for the Nexus 4.
I am skeptical about using something that wasn't built using my device's Official base. I have tried PacMan and every single ROM under the "Android Development" section, only every time I did, I felt the laggy after effect. Either that or something was broken. And to solve the rather annoying lagginess, I had to resort to a Kernel.
But since leaving that section, and going into the "Original Android Development" section, and trying ROMs from there, which were all built on the device's Official base, I have been a happy camper.
On another note, I am not going to recommend another ROM, simply because what I like might not be something that you may like. We all are different, and have different needs.
Finally, am not saying all the ROMs under the "Android Development" section are bad, but I'd be very careful if I were you. Also, am just stating my opinion, and shouldn't be taken literally.
But thanks for the recommendation "bosspolo"
TechXero out...
n.p guess what ?? pacman rom is in Nexus 4 Original Android Development since a week ago , by the way pacman use cm10.1 as base rom, thanks for your comment
