Thanks for the heads-up, I had given up and switched off my ONT.
But landline is still down, so DSL might still be down.
This relevant for Hamra CO only.
well i contacted support more than a 1000 time and they checked my cables for like 100 time.
during they day internet connection is down , after 5pm-6pm it goes back again till 7 am in the morning.
all my neighbors that have ogero dsl subscription have normal connection 24/7 .

I have Fiber, and so far the connection disappears early morning till about 7 pm. I dont understand if theyre trying to make a point. Is there power to the Centrale or not? Are they rationing the fuel at night? We have no clarity on what's going on. I feel bad for Ogero employees but there are thousands of people that rely on the connection for work (like me) and I'm forced to use 4G data and spend even more on a connection to get my work done. It's a shit situation for sure. Hope things get better soon.
I don't feel bad for Orgero workers at all. They are just as corrupt as our politicians.

A sample of Ogero's corrupt lying scum employees:
Sample 1- Technician comes to connect new phone line. He claims he cannot because line is not labeled at box and it's not his job to identify which line is mine. I pay him a "tip", 5 minutes later my line is identified and connected, and he gives me his number in case I have "any other issues". 2 days later phone service is still not working, I call him up, he claims they must not have connected the line at the CO. But he comes over again "to make sure the line is connected correctly on my end" before going to CO, he gets paid another "tip", he then goes to the CO to sort the problem out, and voila the phone starts working after 2 "tips" i.e. bribes.
Sample 2- (different location than #1). I call Ogero's 1515 because of noise on the line that's deteriorating DSL connection quality. Customer support says they cannot do anything because location has no Ogero phone box (which is true). I call the Ogero technician responsible for the area, he comes over and fixes it same day and gets paid for his services since he didn't come as an Ogero technician.
Sample 3- I go to customer service office to disconnect service at one location and apply for new location. It takes 1 hour to apply for new service even though I am the only customer because Ogero employees are lazy bums who spend half their time chatting with each other and checking if their salaries have been deposited in their banks. At the end I am told I have to come on a different day to cancel/disconnect service because cashier office employee is absent and only comes 2 days a week.

We are all living under the same tough conditions. But the scumbags at Ogero are taking Lebanese businesses and home customers hostage for political reasons. We had previous Ogero strikes, but service never stopped all over the country. Yet this time after 24hrs magically all major COs have maintenance issues! Because they supposedly stored enough fuel for days in anticipation for a long strike.

How was service in Hamra restored yesterday evening, and went out again today morning if no Ogero employees are doing any maintenance, or refueling generators?
Don't generalize. There is Ogero employees who are keeping country alive for pennies, i know some of such.
And sure there is corrupt ones, like those you listed, they are dragging whole Ogero down and there is not much others and management can do, as labor law in Lebanon is not healthy at all towards government employees.

Another thing, Ogero is critical public utility + monopoly. At one side working in such government enterprise has very big benefits for employee, but some days like now - it comes as big disadvantage.
Because in many countries, critical public utility(telecom, fire department, government medical workers, police) + govt monopolies by laws are not allowed to strike and disrupt services, this is criminal act. They can submit resignation letter only.
The Ogero monopoly has never been a healthy aspect of our telecom sector and information technology industry. It stifled innovation and growth, and brought us down from leaders in the region, in the mid and late 90's, down to the worse ranks globally. The monopoly needs to end whether by law or defacto through the actions of the private sector.
Government controlled electric & water utility has already brought us back to the dark ages. And now the same is happening in telecom. Lack of electricity can be dealt with at the small business and individual level, but telecom is more complex and costly. Starlink, OneWeb, Kuiper... will not be a replacement for stable wired connectivity any time soon.
IT services businesses and free lancers that can help restore our economy by bringing in foreign projects and money are at constant risk with Ogero's monopoly in place and connectivity in the hands of a few corrupt politically motivated workers' union leaders.
Starlink, OneWeb, Kuiper... will not be a replacement for stable wired connectivity any time soon.
I can tell you - worse, they are strictly forbidden and there is heavy fines for using them.
Hello, Ogero is not working in dawhet aramoun area. No landlines and no internet. Anyone from that area can confirm that? Thank you
Moudimadi wroteHello, Ogero is not working in dawhet aramoun area. No landlines and no internet. Anyone from that area can confirm that? Thank you
Same here in Bchamoun Madaress, Ogero no landline and internet, and the same for Touch and Alfa no internet.
No landline and no internet in Mansourieh area either. ISP says it's a kahraba issue from the centrale (they won't turn it on). Anyone know an affordable replacement for DSL that doesn't shut off whenever they feel like it?

Exactly! this shouldn't even be a lawful strike in the current situation everybody is suffering not just them, taking everyone hostage for is not lawful in any semi decent country like you mentioned. funny thing if I am not mistaken they will still get paid their salaries for this period no fs given which is also bs, but what would I expect

After receiving the modem from July, today on September 28 they came near the house and activated my service.

It's really a disappointing start after moving from a self-ISP.

Otherwise, it seems a good stabled internet connection.

Interesting. I’m subbed to the Ogero Unlimited OS Package, shows now it’s actually OS till 800 GB then it’s capped at 4 Mbps on the app.

What's going on with Ogero lately? It's been 10 days and the browsing is laggy AF... I need to use a VPN in order to browse without having to refresh the page couple of times...

Same here, and that's on fiber.

Does anyone have slow download problems with Ogero? This is my second day and the download speed barely hits 2mbps.
Upload and ping are not affected at all.
I tried two different modems and it's the same. I'm on VDSL Mazraa central.

I'm having the same issue, I asked them to upgrade me to VDSL, they kept me on ADSL2+ and the internet speed dropped to 0.5mbps.. I emailed them and contacted them, they're still looking into it, today the speed went up to 2mbps (no more jitter, and better ping). It is still ridiculous, but I'm still waiting for them to fix it.

Do not ignore it, their support is horrible, so you will have to contact them multiple times. Also check your landline number, is it down? mine is still down.

You should be within 1km to the centrale. Most probably you are farther than that.

Hello guys, just wanted to ask a few questions regarding Ogero. Do they suffer packet loss while gaming from 7pm - 11pm. How's the FUP on their unlimited packages? Also, do you guys recommend any specific ADSL package? (I'm too far for VDSL, speed syncs at up to 14mbit). I've been having horrible experiences with all private ISPs.

To be fair, most unlimited plans anywhere in the world are subject to FUP. Just out of curiosity though, why would you need more than 20GB bandwidth per day?

Big family and TikTok/yt/insta even though I was throttling their speed we exceeded the 400 gb last month

4 members in household, 1-2 constantly streaming video. Easily do 25GB+ per day.

Lol. To be honest at least they are specifying somewhere the actual throttling details. I had a cybersmart package with Cyberia and it was always max 2mbit regardless of ever using the internet, haha. I know Cyberia has a net addict unlimited package but you'll want to check the FUP details on that as they don't mention it anywhere.

Hey , I was using adsl2+ with the same bundle as you and I was getting 11mbps download and 2mbps upload, switched to vdsl last week central(Akkar,Halba) and I'm getting 40-50mbps down and 8mbps up so I noticed that download and upload has increased both 4times it's means if you switch to vdsl the upload speed with be x4 faster than before means you will gets 2-3 mbps upload, and your problem may be from the modem itself and by switching to VDSL you will buy a new modem and the problem will be solved , and if not try so call 1515 and don't call them once or twice call them as must as you can to get that problem fixed sooner .
I have two telephone lines for my house. I used to get 30 mbps down and 6 up on one of my lines and on the other i just got an 6 mbps unlimited package as back up. When it started to rain the download speed went all the way down to 0-1 mbps but the upload stayed the same( I am taliing about the first line 30 mbps). I requested for ogero to send someone to check the box outside my house if it has any faults. They told me it is because of the internal cabling of the house which is odd my house is very new. I complied and changed the entire wiring of the house with better quality cables. I spent about 300 dollars to fix this damn mess and the issue persists. I got three certified electricians to check the voltages and everything and they confirm it is not myside that has an issue. I contacted ogero and they said that there is nothing they can do. I have been reading similar cases on this forum and on ogeros twitter page and it seems they is something happening that they are disclosing. They easily blame the house infrastructure. But they do not know that i have capital to pay for maintenance for my house. The second line works normally and i changed the package for it but the other one had better speed.

It depends. Is your internal wiring new? if yes then try to apply for vdsl. If accepted your upload speed should be higher

Is there a solution for that? My siblings are watching the same turkish series with over 70 episodes on three seperate devices so we're exceeding 400GB by the 20th of every month and the quota for 6Mbps unlimited is 400GB

10 days with a 2mb speed is nightmare. Surprisingly, we never exceeded the 600GB yet, we are reaching near 500GB, with 4 devices always consuming videos like tktok/tirkish series..., excluding my devices. Maybe i think upgrading to unlimited 8mb 600GB is enough? Or i just noticed that they introduced a new unlimited plan 325,000 L.L. <= 50Mb up to 800GB
4Mb after 800GB is better? but watch out it might become expensive when they adjust the prices

The problem with upgrading my package is that Ogero speed test claims our line potentially attainable speed is only 7 MB but in reality it's barely 4 MB and when we exceed the FUP quota the speed drops to 1 MB, I tried to reach out their customer services they claimed that fast.com isn't reliable

just like me, i live far from an ogero central, i barely get 6-7 Mb, customer support can't help, maybe wiring the cable directly to the router helps a bit, but your problem isnt with the speed its the quota, you have to upgrade so you dont get throttled for 10 days each month

You're right thank you, even if I don't get higher than 4 MB an extra 200GB quota is worth the upgrade
Ogero refused to upgrade my package because the line speed doesn't reach 8 MB and the options on the app are greyed out

over the phone or you went to an ogero central? Go to the central, take a copy of the id of the landline owner(better of the landline owner to go himself) + tell them that you can reach speed of 8+ and your neighbors too and you want to upgrade. Hope it works.

It's really weird that they refused over the phone, back in 2020 I upgraded my package using the phone (they just asked me to write a message in Arabic with the ID and send the photo via wp), thanks again tho it seems like visiting the central is the only way.
My area has a max limit of 1Mbps on Ogero. They never upgraded it lol
I tried doing everything possible, Ogero's solution was asking me to knock on doors, gather signatures to have them upgrade.
Needless to say, I changed countries. But still remember the joke.
