Yes, as I said earlier, it's an utter disaster. It's simply useless for any kind of online gaming.
If memory serves me right this problem started around 2 weeks ago but it happened once or twice per day (I have a monitoring program in place for this... even when I am afk) so no one noticed it.
Recently it has become more and more frequent and today is the worst by far. I fear this will get worse before it gets better and it is finally fixed.
Meanwhile, what you guys can do is call 1515 (or anyone you know at Ogero) and nag about it.

what's the monitoring software you use?
It sounds nice

Ahmad Toutounji wroteSo 10 more days with 130ping to eu servers(70 before)? I now officialy declare that ogero is not reliable anymore!
But remains our best choice.

BTW, I got my hands on a fiber optics connection from Ogero where I work, I probably should have written a review on that...
Usually it works really well, low latency, speeds as advertized) But today it has been suffering from very frequent micro disconnection(it immediatly breaks ssh connections :( ) I couldn't game on it, nor could I get a reliable latency number, because they only enabled it at work at port 22, I did sometimes proxy through it for http but soon afterwards stopped doing that(not worth getting caught) But it really is a different world of internet...

It is not a different world of internet. This should be the norm. Intermittent disconnections here and there is fine as long as the connection is stable overall and pings are good to neighbouring areas for the various applications.

I am currently abroad and using a 25 mbps connection (25 download and 25 upload) (and this real 25 mbps connection). I take internet for granted these days and whenever anything comes up on the internet (patches, updates, streaming), I don't think about whether I should download or stream or not. I think about whether I need to or not.

Our internet infrastructure is pathetic and the future seems bleak. Countries around the world are moving away from these pathetic speeds and Lebanon is still lingering in the old ages. For a country that 56 kbps in the late 90s with a bunch of other regional countries, it is sad to see it lagging so much behind.
Guys it turns out that my ping is stable after all!
I found out that there were background processes that were using the shit out of the network, which was making my ping spike like a roller coaster.

Make sure you dont have any background processes running like windows update, or Nvidia Web Helper or stuff like that that use your network.
@Ballad: EMCO Ping Monitor

@AVOlio: I don't mean to be rude but the issue I am discussing here is ping drops out (which cause you to get disconnected from an online game like wow and, as a result die) not high latency.

make your ethernet connection set as metered in the registry
Different day, same problems.

Micro cuts every now and then. What bothers me is that I spoke to someone else in Ogero today and they said the issue could be related to the fact that they are upgrading DSLAMs all over the country and they have no idea how long it will take, which means it could take a month.

A new WoW expansion is out... and every time I try to play the game I end up either dead or kicked out of a group. What a perfect timing !
In any other country that respects itself, technicians would perform the work late at night when most users are not online... not during the day !
upgrading dslams? why they need to? dslams already can give adsl2+ speeds
That's what I'm trying to say Ahmad. The person I talked to yesterday is the director of IT and the person I talked to today is responsible for the country's network infrastructure. No one gives you an exact answer about what's going on and how long it will take.

*Edit: by the way, I tried my brother's "Connect" connection yesterday and the same micro cut happened at the exact same time it happened on my Ogero DSL modem at around 9:30pm.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the only common thing between Ogero's DSL and Connect's WI-FI is Ogero's main backbone (as "Connect" has nothing to do with the Central Office I am affiliated to or my phone line quality).
So it has to be something related to an upgrade or a problem on national level. How else can you explain the exact timing on a 20 secs micro cut.
The other funny thing is that, according to the monitoring software, all the dropouts last between 20 and 25 secs.
I usually play on 3G, but yesterday even the 3G of Alfa had issues, weird delay that was noticeable while playing World of tanks
4 dropouts (around 25 secs each) since 11:00am.
This is getting out of hand. I don't know if it's due to upgrades or there's a problem on the international bandwidth that they are not aware of, or they know about it and they are doing nothing.

If you guys are suffering from the same problem please call 1515 and report it. Every time I call they say "no one else is complaining about it so there is no problem and it must be on your side".

After many calls to 1515, I finally got hold of a knowledgeable and honest guy today who said "indeed, there is a global problem with our DNS servers. This is what's causing you internet to "die" for around 30 secs. They are working on it but I can't tell you how long it will take".
well I say bless this guy we need more like him in our country
knowledgeable and honest?
I highly doubt in-game protocols need dns. Plus symptoms described here shows it is something related to connectivity, not to DNS.
Otherwise changing DNS in your network settings to 8.8.8.8 should fix issue.
@Nuclearcat, you have a point. I am already using Google's DNS settings/IPs.

Could he have meant DHCP server ?
Do you think Ogero can be undergoing some DoS attack and not willing to disclose this information ?

Well whatever he meant, at least they acknowledged they have a problem.

not to alarm you but i think it could be done i know a couple of guy abroad with gigabits bandwith who can do that if they wanted
our back bone is just to weak
Has anyone's connection been shit since yesterday at 10pm?
Kazouza wroteHas anyone's connection been shit since yesterday at 10pm?
mine has been shit since 2002, the day I bought a network card
@Kazouza, please specify what you mean by "shit". Lots of disconnections ? High latency ? Slow down/up speeds ? All of the above ?
DG wrote@Kazouza, please specify what you mean by "shit". Lots of disconnections ? High latency ? Slow down/up speeds ? All of the above ?
SNR margin goes down, lots of packet losses and disconnections.. down speeds are literally SHIT. Been noticing this for the past 2-3 weeks. Was working fine this weekend until last night at 10pm when the electricity went down for a minute.

I'm almost certain the problem is not from my side as I've tried and checked everything.

Also when I do the connectivity check I keep getting this result: http://prntscr.com/crryth
