Now I am not getting disconnected but the connection stops working for about 5 / 10 secs and resumes normally (happened twice in the past 15 mins).
Ogero's connection is sure acting funny lately... to think people used to say it was a great and stable connection. It's nothing like that at the moment.
While im getting disconnected , i believe ogero still the best option to have in lebanon
I am also experiencing high latency. I have the 2mbps unlimited plan.
125 ping and experiencing lag, wtf...
dsl information are unavailable on ogero's site... i'm skeptical it's a lebanese issue... could be because an upgrade... or downgrade... lol who knows... it's lebanon...
It would be really weird if the upgrade ia just a price drop like alfa's that would definitely explain the bad connection recently :p
Did someone try to call them to see if they are doing maintenance or something?
not that i care so much about price drop , but i would like to see 8mb unlimited , i know it's a good dream , but 8mb is nothing these days
ManOwaRR wrotenot that i care so much about price drop , but i would like to see 8mb unlimited , i know it's a good dream , but 8mb is nothing these days
LOL--I have dreams of actually getting the 2mb connection I pay for but only get 1mb--for the same price mind you.

But, I would be pretty happy right now with a 5mb connection. I have used my phone as a hotspot at times, and it is a completely different experience browsing. For one, the hourglass (or whatever is called) doesn't show up for long.
sorry to hear that , but my line can support up to 8mb connection , that's what i had with terranet that last 3 years , now im on ogero unlimited plan and it's 2mb stable , however 2mb is not enough anymore in this day and age , so i rather if they could boost us to 8mb even with a price increase i would be fine with that
News to all Lebgeek(ers) regarding the Internet situation in Lebanon:
After a few phone calls here and there, and getting in touch with some Ogero acquaintances, I managed to get the private number for the Director of IT.
Gave him a call and he was very nice and honest but refused to give detailed information about what's going on.
I tried asking if it was a DoS attack, hardware problems, upgrades, maintenance but he wouldn't give any specifics.
All he said was "You are right, the problem is on a national scale and it will take 7 to 10 days to get resolved".
i don't think it's an upgrade he clearly said problem and time till it's resolved
i guess if we going to see an upgrade in lebanon first it will start as a price drop and quota upgrade
for speed i don't see what good it will make since a lot of people can barley reach their 2mb with adsl over coper lines i feel lucky i can get my 6 mb full speed and thanks to some calculation i made my max speed i can reach is 10mb so its not about adding speed as most people thing it's about changing protocols and infrastructure and add multiple means of connection( cables fibers wireless (
i know wireless exists but expensive and unreliable)...)
I tried doing some quests in WoW this morning and I died many times (due to multiple request timed out replies which caused me to get disconnected each time while fighting mobs) that I stopped. The game (or any other online game) is unplayable at this rate and until this is solved !
So 10 more days with 130ping to eu servers(70 before)? I now officialy declare that ogero is not reliable anymore!

But remains our best choice.

BTW, I got my hands on a fiber optics connection from Ogero where I work, I probably should have written a review on that...
Usually it works really well, low latency, speeds as advertized) But today it has been suffering from very frequent micro disconnection(it immediatly breaks ssh connections :( ) I couldn't game on it, nor could I get a reliable latency number, because they only enabled it at work at port 22, I did sometimes proxy through it for http but soon afterwards stopped doing that(not worth getting caught) But it really is a different world of internet...
@user,
Following the problems with Ogero's service I downloaded a free software called "EMCO Ping Monitor".
I set it up and started monitoring. So far (since around 9:00am) it has detected 6 outages (averaging 20 seconds each).
It's definitely worse than it was during the previous week !

@Ahmad Toutounj,
Dude, I can live with a 130ms ping for a week. But I cannot accept to play on a connection that stops working every 30 mins.

*Edit: Unfortunately I'm forced to stop raiding with my guild until this issue is taken care of. Died countless times while questing. I am not going to be the cause of other players' in-game death as well because of this.

what's the ping to eu?
from speedtest ping to paris is 84ms (which is gd) , but in call of duty black ops 3 I am getting constant 130ms instead of 70-100ms

what's the ping to eu?
As I mentioned, I couldn't tell. It only works on port 22 and I don't know how to ping from there, and when I used speedtest I also couldn't get a reliable answer because then there was a proxy middleman between me and the speedtest server... All I know is sites were loading instantly. Realistically it may have been 50 to 70 ms.
dg I played a league of legends match, i noticed packet loss at least 3 times per 20mins
