yasamoka's diagnostic procedure is very clever. I never had to go that far myself, but it should help you pinpoint the problem shant.
I have 3x80mm fans (1 bottom, 2 side) connected to a fan controller which i use to cool down my video cards. Very effective method and cards never go above 52c under 100% with OC.
Consider it for the future. You'll ensure a longer hardware lifetime as I am yet to have a graphics card fail on me.

Nice suggestion Xsever, this helps a lot with the air pressure AND air flow. But isn't 2 x 120mm better? The high speed ones, or good pressure ones, like the Scythe S-Flex or Deltas, for example?
Guys, I notice there is a dire need for proper cooling in these forums. I'm about to order some fans. I'm thinking of the TY-140 Thermalright 140mm fans (best 140mm fans according to reviews), or the Aerocool Shark 140mm, or for 120mm, the Scythe S-Flex SFF21G. Care for any other suggestions? All are Fluid bearing, and seem to have good pressure too.
@ILIA_93: No there is absolutely no problem, as long as the cables are of good quality and will not put up much resistance. Since they're thicker, and copper, then no, no problems at all. What you did is in principle the same as Cooler Master cases offering 4-pin EPS power connector extension cable for those tough - to - reach spots.
Does anyone want any proper, high-performance fans, so I can get them with me?
Also, does anyone want high-performance coolers for GPUs?
Beej
We need some deltas, yateloon... :P

Haha, well it's like that in real, that's how my parents understood decoration around 1998.

@Beej: Yate Loon? What's even good about those? They're sleeve bearing aren't they? I see them everywhere, but I cannot see why they are so good. So many fans beat them in airflow and quietness. And probably reliability.
shant
guys in case the heatpipes are defective and causing trouble, is it better to buy an aftermarket cooler or just sell the darn thing and get a 560?
Beej
@ Shant: A non Ti 560 is just an oc-ed gtx 460... So its like you are replacing your card with its 2 second older twin. (gf114 vs gf104 "internal tweaks" doesnt make much difference btw).
And i cant think of a good aftermarket cooler that is sold here in lebanon, i hate anything TT except frio.
If all fails sell it for cheap-ish and get yourself a 570 or a 6950 (if budget allows), if not get a 460 non-reference. Please dont buy reference :S.
shant
beej, whats a reference?
no way im selling and getting a 460 again,i can't overclock this with these temps, i wouldn't risk it
Id rather just get an asus 560 and overclock that with direct fan,if im going to waste 60-70$ on an aftermarket cooler then why not spend 100-150 and get a new, cool, faster card?
Beej
Reference card is what nvidia manufactures and send to AIB. Its the same cards with different stickers, i.e. asus gigabyte evga msi..even manly:P.
Now some of these companies make non-reference coolers on reference boards, and some make a non-reference card altogether.
Asus has its DCu series, msi has its hawk/PE/Lightning, gigabyte has their SOC series..etc
These card are faster, more reliable, can oc more, cooler and more efficient.

Beej
yep, its a great replacement. Also you know where to get it from ;)...
shant
the problem is, for how much can i sell my card for?
AvoK95
AWESOME card , I got the same one.
NEVER overheats , and now with my MX-4 it never reaches more then 57C
STRESSED
it overclocks very easily and runs very cool and quiet.
I'd recommend this card to any gamer
Beej
@ shant, am guessing 100$ for a quick sale. Or you can squeeze 20-30$s more if you wait.
ILIA_93
Shant, don't waste your money on it, my call would be the XFX Radeon HD 6950 1GB DDR5 much better for less price.Rank 6th globally vs 9th for GTX560ti (PassMark scores).

-ATI doesn't have:
-PhysX (from the GPU)
-Runs warmer than an Nvidia card
-No CUDA cores
-The drivers are absolute crap
-no AA
I had an ATI Radeon 200 IGPU in my old PC, encountered tons of problems with drivers, performance , overclocking, and heat

AVO... >.>
I thought we got over this issue before... AMD no longer suck. And yes it would be wiser to get a 6950 or a 570, as shant will not feel that much difference in performance. Surely fps gain is a must, but it will not help in increasing settings.
@ILIA: Passmark is a bad benchmark comparison my friend. Remember it showed buldozer 8 core to be faster than i5 2500k, and we all know how that turned out...
@ shant: My suggestions will be either a 6950 1g or 2g (not that much difference except a few games BF3 included), or a 570. And if you cant/ dont want to shed that much more money (since in a few month all hell breaks lose with new gpus from both camps) get a 560 ti.
Also you can hold on to ur gpu and "masshe halak feeha" till new stuff arrive.
ILIA_93
But still, the HD6950 is more powerful than the GTX560ti. I don't consider GTX460 --> GTX560ti a worthy upgrade, since it will cost you 200$. And you wont notice the 5-8 maybe 10FPS difference in the games. But since your card is overheating..... :-/
Just a dump proposition:" Did you made sure that you removed the metal piece under the one you plug the cable to? ( where the fan blows out )" Maybe...
But you removed it, right?
Edit:

The HD6950 (1GB) is 275$ @PCandParts vs GTX560ti (listed above "ASUS") 289$. It's a win win :D

I just ordered Asus ENGTX560 Ti DCII/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560Ti 1GB DDR5
is it a good replacement for my 8600 gt??
