dont switch just yet give it couple of weeks , keep dc/connect till u get an ip from fiber , and hold on to it for couple of days ..
Switching ISP is pain and sodetel is the best from what iv tested before ( IDM,TERRA..)

You have a point here, now the talking about the increasing of national bandwith from 13 to 23 Gbps and to 33 Gps within weeks must have some kind of positive impact on us.
It is wise to wait a little bit, I hope it wont take ages though.
Ph_black: The DC/Connect method has stopped working for most of us. That's why we're highly frustrated these days. I do agree with you though that switching is a pain in the ass but sometimes we're forced to do it.
user wrotel3ama ktir hal2ad, how can they say 500 ms is normal? bi ayya balad 500 ms is normal

I ask again, is anyone with terra net dsl and can tell us if they give gaming ips for free>
I'm with Terranet, and i can confirm that almost 95% of time the latency is very good, 110 ms to 4.2.2.1, without any additional fees or fixed IP or something else.
Aly wroteMy reply to Sodetel:
Dear Support;

The main purpose of my email was to get a clear answer if this issue is permanent or not, an increase from 90 ms to 400 ms is not "normal" its abnormal, its an increase by more than 400% of what I previously got, it might be normal and convincing for those who use facebook, msn and whatsapp and truly abnormal to those who use it for VPN, secure tunnels, VOIP, streaming and Gaming.
After the IMEWE upgrade nation wide, as a Sodetel customer I had a 24/7 fiber connection in the first months, then later on it was a 50/50 chance of getting an IP from the FIber pool or the Sat pool, now it looks like all the residential IP pools have their traffic routed through satellite. After a year with a great experience with Sodetel, the internet quality is downgrading while the minister is declaring that he increased the national capacity from 13 Gbps to 23 Gbps and 33 Gbps in the upcoming weeks.
So please I ask my question again just tell me if this thing is permanent ? a straight answer without any beating around the bush and playing the "Rush hours" or "peak time" card, so I would stop wasting your time and switch to another provider if it is going to stay like that.
Sorry if I sounded rude, I know you support personnel have nothing to do with these unfair decisions.
Their reply:
Hi again,

Till now, this is the latency on a shared connection. Meanwhile, we are awaiting for the new updates of the ministry after the new bandwidth decision

Thank you
I rest my case, that's what I wanted to hear, its staying like that until further notice, people who are not satisfied start seeking for other options (that's what I will be doing).
you did good :P sadly they don't really reply with details...

thank you

I can't switch now though, my bro wouldn't let me, he says he needs it for school now and that I can wait 2 to 3 month till summer... this sucks :P

maybe by then something good will happen

by the way, sodetel is not even replying to my emails...
Just came from work, checked the ping and got the same results, 300-400, out of desperation i tried the DC/Connect method for like 5 times and it worked out. Now my ping is down to 90-100. Hope this continues and it's not a coincidence.
^^ I tried that yesterday like 20-30 times but it didnt pay off, could you please check your current public IP (The one with low ping), I just want to know X in 93.126.X.Y
Is it 93.126.179.Y by any chance ?
Guys, by DC/Connect, what do you mean exactly ??!
like turn the router on and off .. ?!
Or simply Dc/connect the wireless connection ?!
you can either switch the router off then on or access the router through(typically 192.168.1.1) and ask it to reboot

question: if you manually choose a default gateway ip for your router, won't the router always connect to it?

I ran some tests on the slow ips I recorded it seems to work, unfortunately I do not know what a good ip is

edit: no it does not seem to work...

something is not right here, if they are routing us to satellites, and we still have 2 mbps download and stuff, then why didn't we have high speeds in the years before?

That's to do with bandwidth capacity which was only recently upgraded. Ping and bandwidth and separate from one another.
I know bandwidth and latency are completely different

never mind...

Still the same IP as yesterday: 93.126.190.x
It wasn't working yesterday but suddenly worked today, i was kinda giving up.
Came back home just now, ping is low again, IP is 93.126.191.X, let's monitor this guys and see.
I think there was a problem in the last 3 days , bc alot of people reported high ping and low speed .
I still have my low ping ip : 93.126.179.
I have a problem. My Quota is running very fast. I use it for few minutes and I see 200MB+ usage for browsing few pages. What is the problem? This is really weird. Never happened to me before.

Thanks!

Install DU meter, it will let you see your UP and Down bandwidth consumption in "real time" probably you have some virus or some big updates running in the background.
he can use the good old task manager to see that as well...
I have had the same IP 93.126.191.X yesterday, it had low ping all night, today I woke up, I still have the same IP but the ping is high again, I guess its a load balancing from their side regardless of which IP you have, that's why the disconnect / connect trick does not work anymore, you cant control your ping anymore from the client side.
@TheIlluminative: Check if any updates are running in the background, especially if there is Windows update running. If that's not the case, then change the password of your wireless, in case you do have wireless internet at your place, cz there is a probability that someone hacked your router and is using your internet.
@TheIlluminative, are you sure no one is stealing your bandwidth ? Check/change your password if you are on a wireless system.
