I do believe you are trying to say "I think something is wrong in the forum" xD
Exactly Raficoo... I was typing everything right, yet, some words aren't appearing, and others are being written in a rather silly way. that's what i meant with 'it's twisting my words, literally' :P

edit: ok it now works normally :P
I have upgraded my Sodetel account to 4 Mb and can CONFIRM that with the upgrade i instantly had a latency of 100 ms steady for 4 days now, after i had 500 ms for the past 2 months on a 2 Mb account..

i can confirm that it might be related so for those of you trying to Dc/cnct on a 2mb account endlessly there is a chance you will never get an ip from the fiber pool.

I have a 4 mbps connection from Sodetel since day one (When they first started the upgrades), this issue was not related to packages, at some time all residential users were affected, but for the past days its ok, my connection is through fiber again, even if I get a Sat connection, a couple of disconnect / connect is fixing it.
it's 97 ms again, I didn't even restart it or anything

this is a good sign, they may be finally doing some improvements

Note: I am on my usual 2 mbps
I checked all the pages & sadly my problem is like urs... the high ping started like a month ago & I'm getting tired of it.. I called the support center many times & a girl answered & she didn't know anything then she told me to hold on & she will redirect me to Miss Rana... then again I waited for nothing & each time I call either Miss Rana is having lunch break or she is busy...

I have 2MB DSL from Sodetel, each day my latency is 350 to 500ms which is unplayable... sometimes I get a sweet 90 to 120ms but when the router is switched off because of the stupid electricity I go back to the high latency...

I'll give restarting the router trick a go now, hope it works

PS: @1PM today I had 90ms, when electricity switched off/on @2PM my ping was back to 450ms x_x
Just tested the restart trick & it worked amazingly!! after sever tries now I have a stable 90 - 100ms thanks a lot :)
Can I configure my Linksys WAT120N to connect only to that specific server which gives me low pings ?
I can configure the DHCP Relay Server IP , Static DNS (3 of these) and WINS.
Any ideas ?

I would suggest you get a UPS for your router. Firstly to enjoy the good ping for longer and secondly your router could burn if you are switched to a generator when the electricity goes. I learned that the hard way :)
OK guys, for people who can configure their DNS servers can do something to get the lowest pings.
First get the lowest DNS server you use, then set your modem to use static DNS , input those DNS IP-s , restart the modem and you will have low latency.

Hope I helped.

Can someone a bit more experienced try this and(IF IT WORKS) then post a mini-guide on how to set the modem to static and DNS and how to input a certain DNS ?

It's not a router, it's TPLink wireless Adsl device
After electricity being off/on I'm still connected to that fiber IP & my latency is stable at 100-110 ms :D
I'm back on the 350 ms it seems.
Anyway, does anyone have an idea on the current status of the fiber optics project? and the EUROPA submarine cable project as well? Or is there any specific thread that discusses these projects?
You know out of the 100 ms that we celebrate when we get, around 80 ms are wasted in our crappy infrastructure. only 20 or 30 ms are 'consumed' so to speak in the IMEWE and the euro cables. A friend of mine in Jordan got ping replies from london that are rather low, around 27-39 ms per request.
Today i'm on 370ms as well and the usual method isn't working

Yeah, all I can tell you is that so far nothing has changed and it does not look like it is going to change anytime soon.
I'm still on the 97 ms, it's been like 5 hours... I was playing my mmorpg :P it's a totally different experience when you're not lagging and your character immediately reacts to the mouse click

Could you log into your router page and check what IP you have ?

Indeed :D
