AymanFarhat wrote@asahyoun where did you get your USB dongle? I am looking for one. Thanks.
you can find it for sure at compuworld dekwaneh or top technologies ,dora (not babouch).it's not more than 25 $ per dongle. but actually it's useless because there's no settings yet.wait and you will get it from your carrier maybe for free.
Hey guys, I am a 3G alfa user, number 71 658617
I want to try video calling! I tried with MTC user Ghaith but it didnt work,
any alfa users willing to video call me? or give me their number so I call them
Btw, 3G ISP in my case was Terranet.
I'm also interested in trying 3G calls on MTC, dialing the alfa number above gives an error saying video call is not supported outside the 3G network.
If you have an mtc, pm me
Is Alfa blocking tethering? It is not working since today.

Edit: Maybe Alfa blocked the tethering program that comes with Android, but it worked with a tethering application
@4peterkh4: I'm using the built-in "personal hotspot" feature on iOS 4 to tether the Alfa 3G connection to my laptop via WiFi or USB. No problems whatsoever.
7 days later
Is too late to participate in the pilot program? I'll be grateful if someone PM's me the procedure if it's still possible.
I got a 3G sim card from Alfa...

Do any of you guys know what is the download/upload quota on it?

Also, I'm having issues with speedtest from my iPhone... It can't find my location...
I'm a regular Alfa GPRS subscriber (not a 3G tester) and I just turned on the 3G on my iPhone and voila! 3G signal! Seems they opened it for everyone. I should be careful with my 50MB limit though.. hehe

Update: Woke up and the phone is not getting 3G anymore. Maybe it was temporarily open after midnight..
azife wroteits a 4gb quota
on Alfa, the quota is 3GB. they mention that on the papers inside the envelope containing the 3g sim card.

I seriously underestimated the 3GB quota but so far, I've used almost 20% of it. we all have internet in our homes and worplaces. no?
how do i check my usage of 3G quota, on MTC and Alfa .
Use a tool called 3G Watchdog. It displays detailed statistics about your 3G usage.
I installed it on Android. Check if it's available on iOS
You can also use PDAnet on android and tether via USB to your PC, downloading at 500kbs is awesome though im 70% of my quota.
When will they announce the pricing?
Will all gprs packages be available on 3G?
I just need a 10$ bundle for whatsapp...hope they wont stop that.

Prices will be announced next week(Oct 20)
i've heard that it will be 25$ for 4 GB quota.
doubt it, if now downloading an extra 1 GB with Alfa with the 250 mb packages costs you around $100. so if prices are supposed to be 4 times cheaper then $25 a gb is what the new pricing could like.
Personally, i think that any pricing over than 20$ for 4 GB quota is not fair.
