and it has ended
but what if i only need 250MB?
Any package for that?
i have wifi internet everywhere (work, home, friends, parents), just need a package for whatsapp no need for 3G speeds
LOL at the statements up here.
3G is expensive everywhere and will be quite expensive.
4GB for 25$/mo? impossible
more like 250mb for 15-20$
1GB for 25-30$
Mark my words
Does any one know if they will make 3g available for BIS user when it is rolled out?
I heard that MTC proposed 250MB for 10$ 2GB for 40$ and 8GB for 80$. I personally think it's unfair.
So let's hope the MOT doesn't accept these offers..

Why on earth would someone need a supposed 21Mbps 3G for the mere cap of 250MB? Does that even make sense? Least thing it should be is 2GB for $20.

So it wouldn't compete with DSL and other wireless services.
Euh dude, orange does offer 250mb for 8euros a month in france. 3G is expensive. Everywhere.
and it's not 21mbps... lot of device ( ie iphone4 ) are only capable of 7.2mbps HSDPA.

And when 3G will go live, each cell will only be supporting a connection from 2mbps to 4mbps ( very few cells will have a 4+mbps )
Kareem, any idea or prediction about plans?
250 for 15$?
1GB for 27-30?

Sorry mate but I am not involved in the commercial and marketing things. Prices will be set by the MoT

But I heard that 80$ will be for a 16GB package.

Not sure tho.
It was fun while it lasted.. Now let's hope prices tomorrow are good ..

Whispers:
500MB 19$
1GB 34$
Please take these words with a grain of salt.
Not bad if true. Entry package affordable.
Fingers crossed

hehe less than a day away and rumors starting already :P
hopefully this is the least-case we'll see
and also hopefully if this is the case(or better) we might have an end to BB-monopoly in Leb :D
so after, if every phone can have affordable access to internet, we can use any phone we like(be it Nokia, iPhone, Androids, etc...) and chat on a common messenger.
fingers crossed here as well xD
I'm hoping for something cheaper than $19. I don't want to wait till I have to recharge my credits to subscribe!
<dumb question> Will bbm work on 3G ?</dumb question?>
Chup wrote<dumb question> Will bbm work on 3G ?</dumb question?>
I dont think so because BBM tarrifs went down and thats a sign that BBM wont be affected by 3G. In addition my test sim card allowed me to only use browser and whatsapp on blackberry so I thinks thats only what can be done. Anyway we will wait for tomorrow and find out.
Chup wrote<dumb question> Will bbm work on 3G ?</dumb question?>
Im pretty sure it will work on 3g. the only difference between 3g and edge is the technology being used, so no matter the package you are subscribed to you will be getting 3g if it is available in your region.

@tufi2 given that your test sim card was subscribed to blackberry service (That's what Im inferring) then that could be the problem, anyway I believe they will continue calling it mobile data as normal but with different speeds, unless of course they want to create two separate markets which won't be really helpful for who is going to spend $40 on 3g when he can get the same old speed he was used to for a much lower price.

This is attracting more attention than the release of the iPhone 4S :P
Rumors and stuff are spreading. Seriously people, we should have gotten this a decade ago.

As for the prices Fernand mentioned, I find them a bit expensive. 500MB should be equal to 20.000 (25.000 Max), and the 1GB for 35.000 - 40.000
Who's interested in betting that, by November the 15'th, we would all be getting around 0.4 mbps on 3G ? :D
