I'm supposed to be getting the 4Mbps speed today. Nothing till now...
OK so I called 1515 and he said that there are no new speeds available only 1Mbps. So I called the Ogero office Bir Hassan and they said you can apply for the 4Mbps max before the end of the month. So I went there and payed 5000LL and got a receipt where it says that connection upgraded from 1024k--> 4M
The guy told me that the new speed will be automatically switched on the 1st of FEB 2012 and he insisted on that. Are you sure? yes he said.
I said fine so went back home and woke up in the morning, rebooted the modem... still the same sync speed.
Called 1515, as usual the guy answered as he was at home... I asked him how much it takes for the new speed upgrade to be implemented..
He: What new speed? we still do not have more than 1Mbps
Me: But I subscribed to the new 4Mbps yesterday at Ogero
He: Ya 3ayne ma3ana 4Mbps ba3d
Me: Ya 3ayne mbala 3andkon ... and I started like shouting " the damn receipt says speed upgraded to 4M"
He: No it must be that you have applied to the 10GB wait few days and you get that
Tooot Tooot Tooot... yeah he hung up the phone...
I called 3 hours later ; another guy answers... Hello, yes you will receive the new speed on the 4th or 5th of Feb as the guys on site are too busy and this is a routine procedure done every 4th or 5th of every month so you will for sure receive the advertized speed....
True story.
I hope they are recording the conversation for real as I will be escalating what happened with the first guy to Ogero management team. I've never seen such a rude and unprofessional customer support.
