Ogero?

so my ping on League of Legends and my ping on Bf3 and my ping on HoN all took a dump. All 450+ MS

my ping on bf2 on steam is fine but steam can barely connect (takes roughly 5 mins to connect to steam).

This all happened about a week ago... Did anyone have the same problem?
All the games basically are screwed but i am getting 4Mbps on the Dot. (ISP is IDM)

When I call the tech guys they just rabble on that tonight it should be fixed. I just called them and had a huge argument with them they simply said that there was nothing they could do and that i had to wait.

So sick and tired of this /sigh

OK so I called 1515 and he said that there are no new speeds available only 1Mbps. So I called the Ogero office Bir Hassan and they said you can apply for the 4Mbps max before the end of the month. So I went there and payed 5000LL and got a receipt where it says that connection upgraded from 1024k--> 4M

The guy told me that the new speed will be automatically switched on the 1st of FEB 2012 and he insisted on that. Are you sure? yes he said.

I said fine so went back home and woke up in the morning, rebooted the modem... still the same sync speed.

Called 1515, as usual the guy answered as he was at home... I asked him how much it takes for the new speed upgrade to be implemented..

He: What new speed? we still do not have more than 1Mbps
Me: But I subscribed to the new 4Mbps yesterday at Ogero
He: Ya 3ayne ma3ana 4Mbps ba3d
Me: Ya 3ayne mbala 3andkon ... and I started like shouting " the damn receipt says speed upgraded to 4M"
He: No it must be that you have applied to the 10GB wait few days and you get that

Tooot Tooot Tooot... yeah he hung up the phone...

I called 3 hours later ; another guy answers... Hello, yes you will receive the new speed on the 4th or 5th of Feb as the guys on site are too busy and this is a routine procedure done every 4th or 5th of every month so you will for sure receive the advertized speed....

True story.



I hope they are recording the conversation for real as I will be escalating what happened with the first guy to Ogero management team. I've never seen such a rude and unprofessional customer support.

Dude I subscribed to 2mb since October and paying 55$ each month but still getting 1mb.

Um yeah but... Ogero is a different story; I don't think they will charge you 77$ for a 1Mbps. I mean OK they could have done it like couple of months ago; Someone here said that he's having a 2Mbps ( ISP Ogero) connected to Bir-Hassan CO.

I'll wait for 3 more days. Actually I can do nothing more ...

I still have a broadband connection. Vitual isp

im told its 1Mb but i think i share it with others :P you all know these guys (they split a subscription between customers and theres nothing u can do) ... i pay 50 000 LL unlimited download

the download speed alters dramatically during different times of the day... after midnight it is usually at its best... it is when i get the supposed 125Kb/s download speed = 1MB that i pay for... other than that during the day or during peek time.. 6pm -->midnight download speed is around 50 Kb/s

i usually play DotA.. on european servers and the ping i get is below 50ms (ranges from 32ms to 45ms) which is just GREAT.

to be honest i havent found a better offer just yet... im hearing about ogero cyberia and idm customers all complaining... i got my upgrade the next day they announced it on the news...
some of my cyberia friends are still waiting for their upgrade.

anyway, my question is... my laptop contains a built-in 4G WiMax modem, id like to know if there are any offers from any internet provider IN LEBANON who offers WiMax technology connections and id like your opinion on whether i should apply for it in case it existed.

I got the same exact problem ! A week ago everything was going well; I was playing Blackops online with perfect connection and no lag, but everything changed 2 days ago, pings went from ~100ms to ~500+ ms which is unplayable! I just finished my finals a few days ago and couldn't wait to try the mw3 I got but apparently God or Sodetel do not want me to play :(

Ohh and I'm a sodetel 4GB subscriber getting a 0.5Mbps but I honestly don't care as long as I'm getting low pings, which I'm not anymore.

Can any Ogero subscriber post a traceroute to google ? Thanks !

This is getting ridiculous. I was so excited when i saw the 4mb on their &*^#@$@# website.

Yeah, from what he said also, we will get something like 3.2.-3.4 Mbps nothing more. Anyway I have already downloaded 2GBs since yesterday and watching the quota consumption changing from 49% to 8% made me cool down.

If you can post traceroute to google when you come back home it'd be great ! ( and modem type )

Interesting because I cannot set the modulation to G.dmt anymore, it just won't sync. I have the same modem type ( Cisco WAG320N fried ) and I am really concerned with the lag on the 2nd hope 77.42.*

Yours is in the 40's and sometimes as low as 35ms where mine is 50ms best case and most of the times in the 55-60ms.

Jnah Area. I called the Ogero support and he said we have not implemented the upgrades yet. I told him my PPPoE reconnected with the new sync speed; he was like Oh well.... Told him I am only getting 2Mbps maximum, he's escalating it to the network team. Crossed fingers.

I am thinking of upgrading my ADSL modem to cisco x3000 but not sure if it's worth it.
