Hi guys. I hope you can help me with something.

My internet stopped working since 3 weeks. Ogero came and changed my wires. All went good, however since one week now, everyday after 5 or 6PM I get "request timed out" if I restart my modem everything works perfectly for an hour or so, then I have to restart it again.

Sometimes I even get 0.5M or something similar, so I restart my modem and my speed jumps to 6/7M again.

What is the issue? It can't be the wiring, can it be? It's new. Also my modem is new.

I have no idea what to do. Very frustrating.

P.S: In the morning it's very good. Only at evenings something start to happen.

Thanks!
Guys the strangest thing just happened to me! I just got home, and I realized that I have been switched back to 2 Mbps download / 0.5 Mbps upload !!
I've been switched to open speed since August 2nd, syncing at 20 Mbps with an actual throughput of 17 Mbps. The OGERO website still shows OS/200 GBs though.

Any ideas what might have happened ?!

EDIT: Just tweeted OGERO about the issue. They replied that they will register a problem on my line and that they will get back to me shortly:/ I asked whether it could be that I have been switched to VDSL and that I need to adjust my modem settings; they said that I don't even have a VDSL request showing in their files despite having requested it more than a month ago and reminding them about it about a week ago :).
you have bad wires :p
Seriously, they may be doing some maintenance at the CO. Wait till tomorrow morning and check.

I'm moving to Marjeyoun soon, and I'm looking for a fast, reliable ISP in a fair price.
Does anyone know any good ones?
Thank you!

Hi,
Didn't get an answer yet. Does anyone know about this or can advise me?
Thanks
I went to ogero pos 2 weeks ago to request vdsl service, they said they had to chk the line, yesterday they called back saying it was not possible as I live over 1 km from the co, even though I'm not able to get 16.5MB down 1 up :(

How did you fix it? I have a similar problem. Ogero is blaming the wires but my wires are new. But the internet keeps cutting off.
I have requested a kachef on my line at OGero's centrale and shockingly, the result came that my line can only handle 6 mbps (same as what IDM told me), which totally contradicts what Ogero told me in their email in May that my line can handle up to 23 megabits per second and also contradict the currents stats that my modem is showing (max bandwith 17000kbps, attenuation 14, sn margin 23).

What should I do now? Who will help me if Ogero themselves dont know how much my line can handle? Am I doomed with 6 mbps?

I think it is a bad idea to do feasibility test now with all the upgrades going on. How much are you having now with a SNR margin of 23?

I am on IDM's 4mbps/50GB plan. IDM gave me the same max speed before the upgrade.

I have an attenuation of 14 , I am with IDM too and i am getting 15 Mbps now but when i was on 8 Mbps before the upgrade my SNR margin was around 20-22, yours is low for such a speed. You won't get 17 Mbps for sure but i think you can get 9-10 Mbps max)

My snr was 27 when i was on 2mbps. I should get at least 12mbps. When i was on 2 mbps, my modem used to give me a max bandwith of 6500kbps

But but how come OGERO is giving me strikingly conflicting feedback about the speed i can have?

By the way, what is your DSP? GDS or ogero?

You are lucky to be one of the rare GDS users whose speed is not being capped!
These Are My Recent Communication with OgeroTelecom Via Twitter:

Thank You I received the upgrade to 4Mbps /Unlimited Today .

1- Any Hints about FUP on unlimited nights for open speeds for the near future.

2- When FTTH will be available - I am 600 m from the CO - Sakiet Janzir

3- Some People i know pushed VDSL working on Ogero Open Plans ( It needs a Push as they told me from inside of Ogero). They got a VDSL modem sure like the TPLink AC1200 VDSL /ADSL Modem, any hints about residential VDSL requests.

OgeroTelecom Response:

Hello dear.

We do not have FUP on our network. You are free to download whatever you want.

FTTH will soon be announced with a clear timeline and a procedure for sign up.

Doesn't need a push everyone is considered a VIP here sir

No, it is capped somehow since they lock the maximum speed that you can get (whatever is the SNR margin). I was getting 12 Mbps (same SNR). I contacted them and requested an increase and they did increase it to 15 Mbps (even though i should get 17 easily). I guess that i am lucky.

Same here... was getting 14Mbps before August 1st.
Now it's capped at exactly 9.0Mbps (IDM)

For the mean time, i'm settling for this until the FTTC is established (supposed to take 3 to 6 months)

However, if IDM take off their unlimited night traffic and/or they cap VDSL/G.Fast internet !!
Switching to Ogero and going to do all my downloads from work !!
@Adlouni, that's for mobile broadband, 4G tests mostly, check the fixed broadband in the same links you provided.

Ogero doesn't have any FUP on their network, but they also don't have unlimited nights. They only have full unlimited plans with fixed speeds and not open speed. I also believe that Unlimited night is not on their near term agenda.
Let's hope that everyone is really considered a VIP and that there will be a clear procedure and timeline for subscribing to fiber, because right now with DSL, the closer you are to the CO the faster speed you get, while many people are not that lucky and didn't get any improvement in their service.

I don't really feel like a VIP with my 2.xx MB/s but I understand that it is work in progress, and I acknowledge that you get the best service from Ogero when you compare to private ISP.
