where is the logic in IDM selling 4mbps/50gb and OS/50GB at the exact same price? same for 4mbps/70gb and OS/70GB!!!
The only logical explanation is that some people won't benefit from the open speed, so no use to put them on open speeds setting/plans. (== Their lines won't handle it and they will simply give them 4MB and leave bandwidth for the ones who can handle/benefit) Make any sense or just said a bunch of bull crap ?:p

Now the increase in quota is always good for anyone so for some people who use internet for basic needs, if you tell them we jumped you from 25Gb a month to 70Gb, it's all they will care about)

The second think i came up with, i doubt all users/subscribers tell the difference (i know, it might sound weird but remember, not everyone knows or differentiate between good and bad quality internet speeds, latency, ping and the things you'll be able to do with high speed internet)

For instance i have 80% if not 90% of my coworkers who are oblivious that an upgrade is taking place in Lebanon (hell, even a computer shop i went to get some Cat6 cables from in hamra just this last Friday, had no clue what so ever about the upgrade till i mentioned it, and they didn't even believe me)

It's true actually most of the people around me had no idea about the upgrade when i mentioned it.

Concerning having the same price for 4M and OS packages, i still believe that the 4M will have the option of unlimited night while the OS packages wont, which would drive some to stay on that 4M package (particularly if they are far from CO anyway).

The open speeds WILL have unlimited night traffic. That's what I was told over the phone.
I think they realized that taking that away from customers, they'll have no more reason to stay with their service and everyone will change to ogero.

However your point is partially spot on: if you're far away from the CO, makes no sense to go for the OpenSpeed (at least until they install all the active cabinet) and again, many subscribers don't know about the upgrade and many won't even differentiate or care about 4mb compared to OpenSpeed connection (as long as it's stable and they can use their internet for basic things: social media, youtube, downloads etc.)
Hello all,

I just want some advice about 3 providers.

I online game excessively on Ogero with an average ping of 120 and a download speed of 200 kb/s (unlimited quota for 50k)

I have the chance to switch to either Cyberia or TerraNet.

Gaming and download wise (have to download my games also so), which one is better ? Should I stay at Ogero or switch to one of the 2 others ?

stay with ogero and tell them to change your line to fast path instead of interleaving (if you have a clean line), this will get your ping down to 60 or 70
Hi

Does all Ogero centrals have ADSl2? And if not are this technology going to be available in the near future?
Thank you

Hey Almighty< I'm sure this was answered before but what is exactly considered as a clean line?

High snr margin and low line attenuation < 26-28 and no errors or low number of errors

How to solve the problem if one has a high errors number?
Looks like switching to ADSL2+ in the Advanced ADSL modem settings fixed my problem, now I have speed and stability.
BTW are Mobi,Wise, Connect...speed increased alongside ADSL or they are still limited to 2mb/s?
Sodetel user here, the sucky thing is that my bandwidth increase to 16Mbps from 20 July and it's eating my 55 GB quota like cheese, only 8G left.

Same here, until i limited the bandwidth to 2Mbps for the whole family

80GB subscriber here. I have around 5GB left of my quota. I suffer from this every month.
I'm so glad that they're actually upgrading our internet so soon, wouldn't have imagined Lebanon to undergo another upgrade like the one in 2014 for another ten years or so.

had technical issues for 2 days with Sodetel so called them up today. i'm subscribed to their unlimited plan (1.5mbps/$30ish) and they told me that they upped it to 2mbps last week and it will be finally upped to 4mpbs starting august 1. dont know about pricing difference or any other bundle plans.

Damn Ogero, even with ADSL2+ mode selected I still get random modem reboots.
If they are not ready to launch a new speed on actual cabling in modern Beirut why they are doing it?
And the most funny part is the official excuse they gave that buildings have poor cables, my building was built in the 2000s and has modern standards cables, we are only at 600m from the central, so the problem is with Ogero installation not us.

my max rate is even worse than last week ( which was worse than the week before)
