Hi guys,

im a new member in this community ,daily visitor to this forum,

im 10 meters away from the centrale ( its just the next building ) , im on 4Mbps / 50 GB plan with IDM
couple of days ago , i tested my internet on speedtest , it shows 8Mbps download

find below link info from the modem (thompson)

my question is that im 10 Meters away from the centrale , my speed should 15 , 20 Mbps instead of 8Mbps no?? or it is limited by idm?

your stats are wonderful, but your speed is capped from IDM not from OGERO side, since your down rate is 20.999 kbps.

Sadly it is limited by idm, i say give them a call

Does the bandwidth row signify a limit made by the service provider? If so, is it fair that my bandwidth down limit is 2 mbps while I'm on the 4 mbps plan?
They are definitely(idm) limiting your speed you should be getting 17-18mbps speed
@amkahal , @ahmad toutounji

Thank you a lot guys!!
for Snr tweaking on tp link u need modem version below w8970

last one that has snr tweaking over telnet is w8960

above that u can use a hack and change the value through a hexadecimal value

however i can only get it to work until -9 , can't achieve -6db yet , will keep working on it 15mb on -9 , 18 on -6 if i manage to decrease the value and thats on w8970 version 3 tp link modem
Guys i thought you should know that pcandparts now has a VDSL router for sale

Cisco-Linksys X6200 AC750 WI-FI VDSL Modem Router - $90

Is this a good modem? Is the price reasonable and justified?
Are vdsl modems future-proof regarding the handling of FTTC and FTTH?
kfc wroteAre vdsl modems future-proof regarding the handling of FTTC and FTTH?
FTTH I think would need some kind of fiber port modem.
FTTC well for what it concerns your modem you just moved closer to the CO so no special modem is needed

Dont vdsl modems have fiber ports?
Hey guys, it seems like I have missed something, why are everyone's speeds crazy ? I'm with ogero and using the 2M unlimited plan, and my speed hasn't changed one bit.

2mbit unlimited users will only see an increase of upload speed to 1mbit/s (from 0.5mbit/s; I'm also unlimited 2mbit and got this upgrade 2 days ago), and you would have to change plans to one of the capped open speed plans or the new 4mbit/'s unlimited plan to see an increase of download speed and after that you must wait until 1st of August for the change to happen.
Upstream Downstream

but right now , there's no electrecity once it's back it will drop down to 13-15mb

electrecity back on

Max Rate (Kbps) 1342 14515

Interference as its best :) Once your line sync the max rate your SNR will suffer and you will loose better speeds because of it, I suggest you re-route your phone cable away from any electrical wires, it is challenging but beneficial

Al0ushka wroteI called terranet today To ask about new plans
They told me that new plans have indeed been decided but they are yet to be announced
So i convinced the guy to spill some info then luckily he decided to be helpful
As for my plan.. I had 4mb 50gb my snr was 22.2 down attenuation was 21.5

So i asked him which plan will i get?
He asked me which modem i had i said tenda he said oh you changed it, it's not ours so i don't have remote access
I said don't worry I'll give you the stats
I told him My rate was now 16837 kbps (it was when i first noticed it changed too)
Except he was more impressed than i was (dunno why)
Snr was now 7.9 and attenuation didn't change of course

Then he said that my 4/50 plan will be automatically upgraded to open speed with 120gb
Effective august 1st because "ogero something something" didn't make any sense
I'm guessing my line wasn't upgraded yet
So i asked if there will still be free night quota and the answer was NO.

There will be no more night quota in any of the new terranet plans but I'm guessing none of the other isps will have it either
He said there will only be 2 unlimited quota plans.. 2mb/s and 3mb/s (lol @ 3mb/s)

As a conclusion to this very long post.

Most probably none of the isps will have free night quota anymore
And their offers will only vary in max consumption 120gb +/-
So if you wanna make the switch to ogero just do it!

A question: my speedtest result is still 3.87 download
Should i keep testing or it won't change before August 1st?
IDM will have free night quota for sure
and it costs 4 $ excluding V.A.T
it's from a special trusted source of mine
What he told you does not sound logical unless they limit the speed at night at a the same level for all users.

otherwise I think that the price of free night quota will depend on the speed or consumption
How to explain the fact that my maximum bandwidth is dropping day after day although the attenuation and noise margin stayed unchanged?

4 days ago the maximum bandwidth was over 19 megabits per second and today it is 16.5. What is going wrong?

Me too. This is strange. My SNR Margin is 36.5dB and down attenuation is 15.5dB but the max rate dropped from 23000kbps to 20900kbps !!
