Is it normal that my SNR margin downstream dropped from like 22 to 11 after my speed got upgraded from 2 to 4 mbps and why?

kfc wroteHow to explain the fact that my maximum bandwidth is dropping day after day although the attenuation and noise margin stayed unchanged?

4 days ago the maximum bandwidth was over 19 megabits per second and today it is 16.5. What is going wrong?
Me too. This is strange. My SNR Margin is 36.5dB and down attenuation is 15.5dB but the max rate dropped from 23000kbps to 20900kbps !!
Same here!! I was just about to ask the same question.

My max downstream rate decreased despite having an increase in the downstream SN Margin.

Because they increased your upload speed. the more they increase the upload, the less download speed you will get.

From 15 to 17, it doubled, so the SNR margin decreased.
From 17 to 18, the decrease in SNR is minimal (maybe there is interference or you took the screenshot at another time of the day)
Plus the reported max rate is an estimation from the modem and it is unreliable. Once my attenuation decreased from 14 to 3 (which is impossible)
Hello, I have Ogero DSL internet and my house is less than 600m away from CO Ogero. Im currently on 4mbps speed but I have applied for the open speed bundle that should be applied on August 1. However, was seeing users being able to check their maximum attainable speed from the router itself so I thought I would try it as well, and was expecting to see nice numbers such as 10Mbps+ since I'm very close to Ogero and my building itself is relatively new (about 15 years old).
Here are my stats as shown from the ZHONE router i have from OGERO:
Router stats

Max attainable rate is 5512 Kbps !? Does this mean the max speed i will get on aug 1 (when open speed bundle is activated) is only 5 mbps? How can i improve this? Should I buy a new router or should i change the phone cable from the router to the wall socket? Im not very informative of these issues, but im trying to read and learn through the forums.

Thanks for your help :)
@TheLebGeek start by setting the mode to ADSL2+ instead of G.DMT. If it doesn't work then your CO doesn't have ADSL2+ and you're out of luck.

Like Adnan said set it on adsl2+ , and your snr margin is very bad you should tell ogero to check your line for interferences
I dont think his snr is low 11 by 14 is average try synching adsl 2 + amd resend a picture
So guys, I thought I'd post my Internet specs so you can see what speed I can expect on 1 August (I'm currently on 2 Mbps / Unlimited with Ogero)

DSL Type: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 449 / 2.042
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0,00 / 0,00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11,5 / 17,5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 18,0 / 32,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 12,0 / 11,5

Also it seems that I'm currently not on Adsl 2+, should I change it or will it change by its own when the upgrade applies?
You must be pretty far from the co no? Change it to adsl2+ and repost your stats
Ahmad Toutounji wroteYou must be pretty far from the co no? Change it to adsl2+ and repost your stats
Actually I'm between 1km and 900m from the CO, my bandwidth speed is so low because it's the current speed I have right now (the old 2mbps/unlimited not the new with increase in upload), and I can't seem to find the max attainable speed on the router's options.

EDIT: Just checked online how to change my router to ADSL 2+, because I can't find the option to change it, and it seems that my "router automatically detects whether to connect using ADSL or ADSL2+, there is no option to override this", so I should expect it to automatically change to ADSL 2+?
not with your line stats, call ogero to let them check on your line your stats indicate you are 2km away and have a noisy line too

Ok, will do.
SNR margin is starting to be better, 10 now instead of 6 but the max and data rate dropped 1mbs
infiniteloop wroteSNR margin is starting to be better, 10 now instead of 6 but the max and data rate dropped 1mbs
same. from 7 to 10 and rate dropped ~1 mbs

any explanations?
infiniteloop wroteSNR margin is starting to be better, 10 now instead of 6 but the max and data rate dropped 1mbs
Noticed that also last night, they did decrease a bit the Data Rate synced which is much better for the reliability of the connection
My SNR margins also increased a bit last night and today, but then again I'm on only 2mbit unlimited so it's it's nothing wow. Still, I wonder if this increase is from Ogero's side or or some other external factor on play.
yeap, mine increased too, from 8 to 10.5 or 11 sometimes
i have an annoying issue, i would like to ask about,

first of all, I'm Ogero Subscriber, my line stats are very good, i can get 16mpbs,
my profile now 4MBPS, (Fastpath) not interleaved, ( more crcs ) ?

On GDMT, i have about 20 crcs in 12 hours,
on ADSL 2 + 30 crcs in 12 hours

without a single DC, still online,

is there anything to worry about these crcs?
