so guys when these services are activated, what work should we do to switch to these fiber optic services?
Ahmad Toutounji wroteIt is good to know, can you ask him when free night going to be available and if it's going to be paid or free
I will, but I don't think I'll get an answer because he never managed to answer two questions back to back with me :P

It's way too expensive!
It's a shame to see we will have to wait another 10 years to get Fiber speed at logic prices, you can have a fiber plan 5x faster with 3x more downloads quotas for the 1/2 the price in Europe
Iam wondering why Ogero Doesn't have any FUP on the new offers of open bandwidth.. Similarly with old plans too. I have been with Ogero for 9 years and I am not planning to switch (for stable connection , near the CO , good service over all , no dips).

C'mon man, let's be realistic here!!.....

It's more like 5x faster with no download quotas for less than 1/2 the price in Europe :^)

Seriously? Poland has one of the best internet services in europe...
How about we take the average speed, quota and price of the internet in the world, and compare that average with the upcoming plans...

We don't have to compare ourselves with the best of the best...
What are you gonna do next? Compare it with south koreas internet?

Be fair..

Digging underground which will cost you about 1000-2000 USD to intall fiber from the closest cabinet to your premises. I suggest you stick to DSL open speed packages which are way faster until we getter better fiber optic plans. 50mbps is a joke for a fiber optic installation.

in my case IF they agree to activate vdsl on my line I will get max 23-35mbps which is <50mbps, but paying more than 200$ for fiber is useless if I can get 20mbps speed
Hassan wroteSince we're discussing this topic, could someone explain why are modems supporting VPlus ( profile 35b) so rare to find ? I remember I could only find ones supporting up to 17a when I was looking for a modem a couple of weeks ago.
Because no one uses them. People use fiber optic installation for high speed internet.

Profile 30a Modems:

TD-W9980, Archer VR200 and Archer VR900 (TP-LINK)

Profile 35b (backward compatible with 30a):

Ubee TVW624, ASUS DSL-AC87VG

G.Fast (backward compatible with 35b):

ASUS DSL-AC88U
Do you know the vlan id in Lebanon? For setting up the VDSL2 Modem

OH well never mind about getting fiber optic then, so I just checked new DSL plans and noticed that in the open speed ones we got this "depending on copper wire capacity", what does that exactly mean? how do we know the capacity of the copper wire?

From the unleash the speed tests they did back in april, some got 20M and some didn't exceed 4M depending on your distance from the central.

go to your router and give me your line attenuation.
the speed basically depends on how far away from the CO you are.

here you go buddy : Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 31,5 / 54,0
Hello, in my modem stats there is something called " Delay (msec)"

on adsl 2 , downstream delay is 0.92 upstream 0.25

but while on t1 413 or Gdt, the delay is 0.25 on both down and up stream

what is that ?

while on 0.25 up down, it is more stable on online gaming ,

hint: the ping is the same on both modulation

sorry to break the news dude max speed you can get 4.5 Mb/s you are at 3.9 km away from the CO
Morning,

I couldn't test my internet speed on unleash the speed day a few months ago so I am trying to get that info from Ogero before being switched to open speed plan at the start of next month.

Anyone managed to get a clear answer from Ogero regarding the max attainable speed and VDSL viability on their line? Upon contacting the POS in my area today, all I could get from them was that my line can handle more than 8 Mbps. Nothing about my max attainable speed (beyond 8 Mbps) or VDSL viability of my line.

EDIT: I tweeted ogertelecom and Mr. Imad in hopes of getting redirected to someone with more technical knowledge than the POS employee to answer the questions I have.

I'm indeed far from the CO but if my line can handle 4.5Mb/s why am I still getting 1Mbps after the 2Mbps update?
We can now change plans by calling 1515 then 0, you need to send photo of id card to an ogero whatsapp number or email
