But more importantly the free night quota!

If your synced speed increases based on your max rate displayed by your modem, does it decrease the snr margin? I mean mine used to be synced at 4230 Kbps with SNR margin 18, about a month ago it is syncing at 8000 kbps but the snr margin is about 8 or 7. Knowing that my max rate displayed is about 12 or 13 Mbps.

Yes it decreases it

Just called IDM and the tech dude said based on "their" tests after the "upgrade" My line could reach 10 Mbps.

Anyone knows a place to buy an affordable VDSL modem 50-80$.
The only pace I found a VDSL modem is top technologies VR300 series for 135$ and it's not even high end.

Well your max line rate is 12-13mbps as you said there is 15% overhead so it's kinda true

seems like things are happening at the CO, I previously tried to switch to G.dmt to get lower ping and my modem would not sync anything other than adsl2+ , so now I tried G.dmt and it synced, my ping to valve servers is 60 now !!

I'm around 3.5km far from the CO.
I want a new decent modem/router.
Should I get a VDSL one?
ahmad-toutounji
Well do it but you won't notice any difference now but you will need vdsl when fttc is installed

I noticed today that the FEC errors increased enormously. At the same SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 24,6 / 14,3 , i used to have max 5,000 FEC during the day, now i am having around 1,000 per minute. NO CRC or HEC error however and no disconnection or decrease in speed. Anyone noticed anything? (IDM here/ Mazraa CO)
