seems like not everyone who works at ogero has been informed about the new decisions. i just called and asked about the change in plans and got someone who had no idea how. my question was if the line owner (my father) should go to the central to ask for a change or if anyone can do it. hopefully someone can answer me here.

from experience, your dad should go, or he has to make a "wakele" for you.
Hello guys. Do you know if we could apply for the new plans before next month in order not to be stuck with 4mbps for a month?
From now you only need to do "speedtest" to see if your line can "handle" open speeds then at first day of next month you can change it immediatly
i went to central jdeideh asked about information of my line , speed , distance , etc , etc , their answer was come back in 11 days :)

do really that test takes 11 days .... <3

i know what my line can handle on adsl2+ , it's 15mb

i think i will reach 20mb with vdsl

that's an approximate guess

lets wait 11 days and see their result

According to the table shared from ogero like 2 months ago you can reach 54mb on vdsl2
VDSL is an upgrade to the current DSL technology that we have. it uses existing infrastructure, the only the modulation technique is the difference.

here is a quote from minster Nicolas Sehnaoui "Prediction 2013 #5- Allow and tariff VDSL technology to allow higher speeds for the 75% living under 2km from the CO"

Ahmad Toutounji wrote so beside the need to go to the central, we need to go to the sale center to get the vdsl modem too?...
yes thats the process, or u can get your own vdsl modem, iam getting mine 2 weeks from now from top technologies (routers arriving in 2 weeks, already booked mine)
but we need to ask the central to activate the vdsl no?
yes it needs activation, but better to go to ur nearby central only, then to go aslo to downtown main central to get the modem from there
chassis wrotewait a minute so we can now get a VDSL router and unlock faster speeds ??

does anyone know what they are priced at ?

Also is there a way to know for sure how far i live from the CO ?
Where exactly do you live? There is a CO in Bir Hassan and one in Jdeideh. You can calculate the distance on google maps.

I live in tayouneh and there is a Co in badaro

or is the one in Badaro not a Co ?... on the website they call it Point of sales
Now what i really wanna know is why they made getting vdsl speeds such an impossible task
Anyone knows what will be the impact on the Wimax prices?
Because they need to upgrade linecards to VDSL2+ capable, i dont expect it to be fast process.
Also i noticed VDSL need much higher spectrum bw, so no guarantees capacitance of poorly done wiring might kill speed.

Do we have to go the the CO to make our port VDSL2 Enabled or we can make a call or send an email?
They need to bring hardware to CO first, you can try asking, when they will install VDSL2+ capable DSLAM in your CO.
If am not sure if they installed any in Lebanon yet.
Mr. Imad told me that it is available all over Lebanon now
Then plugging VDSL2+ modem should be enough, if it will sync, means VDSL are working.
(I hope they didnt disabled VDSL2+ intentionally, on new tariffs it should be on by default)

You shouldn't worry, the CO is like 2.2 Km away from you, but this isn't the issue. The main issue is your distance to the cabinet which affects the loss of bandwidth the most. For instance, a VDSL2 connection that is 1.6 Km away from the cabinet performs as much as an ADSL2, but you shouldn't be worried.
