Internet in Lebanon - General Questions
how to get the distance from the CO my line attenuation is 22 ?ManOwaRR wroteit seems like Fiber Is Available to anyone within 800meter From the CO , i'am 1000km away so no luck for me ...
i assume i should be 1.5 km but i know i can get 19mb/s max
am i correct?
I think the fiber plans might be Vdsl2 since the rely on fiber to the cabinets.
vdsl2 is for all type of cables

Actually I'm in an interesting situation.
The bulding where i live has a bank at the ground floor, so supposedly we're wired to the fiber network. I tweeted mr kreidieh asking if i could be connected by fiber (this was a few days ago), the answer was a simple "no".
Maybe if i try again today I'll get another answer?

Check this article out from NNA and this colorful quote
I don't know if there is a translation error or that the minister was not giving us the correct information as this statement seems to indicate that anyone can lease an E1 line.Minister Jarrah said: "The Cabinet decided today to lower Internet prices significantly." He explained that the DSL unlimited pack of 4 megabytes will cost 90 thousand Lebanese pounds per month, which is 50 percent to 60 percent less than before.
He noted that the E1 (high speed digital link) is now available to all citizens, users, ISPs and DSPs, ranging from 100 to 2000 MB starting at 165 thousand Lebanese pounds, and from 2100 to 5000 MB at 155 thousand pounds
Has anything been said about making the process of switching ISPs easier?
I'm guessing that might be answered tomorrow by Mr.Imad @10:30AM, he probably will clarify anything else we might need to know I hopeEzikMezik wroteHas anything been said about making the process of switching ISPs easier?

How many people know how to manage their internet quotas. Imagine someone with 6 household members, if one them watches their limit with classical ways like checking on the website etc pretty sure the other 5 won't. And I am also sure not many people can install DDWRT or know how QOS works or how to set it up. Ogero should either provide tools to do it easily from their website because judging from these plans a lot of people are gonna get screwed from their end month bill... Also for 4mbps unlimited for 90 L.L is still expensive, I get much higher speed for the same price and with unlimited downloads and with a way lower ping for the same price. Not trying to be pessimistic but all these plans are meh and look like a money grab. A 10 minute 720p youtube video uses 120MB on average. lol...
The same way as peope watching their electricity consumption, water and over the world watch also heating and other metered resources. Time to learn and grow up.RandomMemory wroteHow many people know how to manage their internet quotas. If they dont want to learn, then time to pay.
Guys i have the old thomson modem from ogero. i also have a Tenda router.
What i want to do, is hook the tenda router on an ethernet port on the thomson and set it up as a second router.
The reason why i want to do this is because it has bandwith control.
I tried doing it yesterday but the internet connection was not working on the wifi network coming out of the tenda router.
I setup the internet connection on it, to static ip and dhcp, but still not internet connection. However there was internet connection on it when i attached my pc on it by lan.
So how can i make the wifi work on the tenda while attached to the thomson?

I'm not sure if I understood you right. But physically, you have to connect the wan port of tenda router to lan port of modem, The modem should be in bridge mode and configure your router in PPPOE. with your dsl credentials (L number)AVOlio wroteGuys i have the old thomson modem from ogero. i also have a Tenda router.

Make sure subnets in LAN not same (they might be using both 192.168.0.x)
It should work in DHCP mode as well then, if they are different

I did physically connect the Wan port of the Tenda router to one of the lan ports on Thomson.
I tried DHCP mode on the Tenda, didn't work. Tried static ip didn't work, tries pppoe also, and didn't work (maybe my credentials are wrong idk).
Only when my pc was connected by lan to Tenda router I had Internet connection, the WiFi network on it had no Internet.
Wifi on Thomson has Internet as always.
Also yes, when u connected the Tenda by lan to the Thomson, they gateway of the Tenda changed to 192.168.2.xx instead of 192.168.1.xx automatically but still didn't work.
Any guides?

Anything related to the unlimited night traffic was mentioned in his Live session ?
Unfortunately I didn't watch it all,
Unfortunately I didn't watch it all,
there is no unlimited night traffic
It is very strange, if tenda has internet on lan, but not wifi, it might be some issue of wifi compatibility, because usually wifi and lan are bridged together.
Try using wifi on another device. Also try following steps:
1)Ping lan ip of tenda (it should be equal to your gateway given by DHCP)
2)Ping lan ip of thomson (it is gateway given by DHCP to Tenda)
3)ping 8.8.8.8
