guys, let's clarifying, when deploying FTTC, nothing will change from the CO to the customer side, since the line attenuation depends only on the connection quality between you (client) and the CO (DSLAM), knowing that the such connections are copper until now, so if we neglect the malfunctioning of the DSL modem, the improvement on SNR maybe comes from changing DSLAM to newer ones or changing cables in your area. that's my opinion.
