No Internet for 2 days now. Called terranet few times, they said there is nothing they can do for me, its all ogeros fault, i have to wait saturday and sunday because ogero tech team is out for the weekend, what a mess.

I'm quite surprised to hear about FTTH and other shit, while country core network dont have redundancy at all.

You expect Ogero to work on weekends ? I dont think they even work after 12 pm hahahaha

It's very straightforward, what is there to understand? You have to be careful though when he says : "ما سمح للبنان بإحتلال المرتبة الأولى بين جميع الدول العربية لجهة نسبة نمو خدمات DSL" that is not necessarily a good thing. Going from 10% internet users to 30% means you tripled in growth, but that does not make you better than countries that have 90% penetration already and grew to 92%. So being the country that had the most growth is absolutely meaningless. Other countries have no room to grow.

yep the number's they gave are absolute BS i read something like 70% of the population has dsl speeds between 2 and 10 mb which is also true if i say between 2 and 100 mb but the truth is most of them have 2 and the max they give is 8 and i know a lot of them subscribed to 2mb but only gets 1

about the update on the internet well boutrous harb said we will have fiber to home ( or fast internet is exactly what he said but for me doubling it is not even fast )at least 85% of us before the end of 2017 we know nothing more
PS it's highly unlikely if 1 year from now we will have such major update at least we must see some light at the end of a tunnel

boutros harb was preparing new plans for dsl, with the government gone now I guess new plans need to wait a lot

The new Telecom minister (whomever he will be) will need to rush the internet plans, the situation is totally unbearable and pathetic.
They need to upgrade all the major centrals in the country and activate the fiber network so we can have something acceptable compared to other countries.
As a demanding user I am using 3 types of internet at home, a 4MB crap DSL connection from sodetel, a local cable connection (for downloads and torrents) and 4G LTE strictly for online gaming. Tell me where in the world do you need to subscribe to three seperate internet services to suit your needs.

Well its about time, I just hope its not empty talk.
We honestly dont need any 5G network, the 4G is fine, we just need better plans and pricing. But the DSL needs a major upgrade and that what we are all waiting for.

Flakk i totally agree with you, i barely use 3g because of its price and dsl speeds and quotas are just a joke.

I'm facing a problem which is simply a hard hit on the ADSL signal quality after the last storm (few days ago), I have IDM Adsl 4mbps, in the bad daily period of time which is between 6pm till 12am, I used to have around 12dB of SNR on the download with 0 CRC errors, after the storm I'm seeing 6.5dB on the download with high CRC numbers (24k errors in around 4 days)

Could my assumption of the connection between this signal degradation and the storm be correct? Any another possible issues?

very possible, if cable/some commutation box got wet and corroded
it is very common problem in telephony/dsl

do you know if you are on GDS or Ogero centrals?
Because i am on GDS and my internet has been out since Friday literally my broadband doesn't connect so i contacted idm and they said
they have issues with gds

As far as I know we only have 1 Ogero central in our village

hey guys i honestly could careless about any minister in this corrupt country, but any one has an idea on when will we have new minister of telecommunication so we could maybe understand what's going on with the internet situation in this country
