At least he's from the same political party as Aabdel meneem youssef, Ogero head; so I hope they'll work together this time and we can see some improvements in the internet. The fiber optic infrastructure is quasi-finished in major areas; it just needs the political decision to turn these on and make the migration.

The new minister like the old minister , he is far far far far away from telecom , so here comes the fiber project delayed for few years

i think the only reason he came to this position is to clear abel meneen youssef's name
sorry but i don't trust in this system called lebanon
that's the only reason why i see this guy who clearly has no idea about telecommunication ( read a lot about him good buisnesss man )

Ive moved to Hamra a couple months ago and subscribed to a local internet provider which is killing me!
Im paying 50$ for a 3mbps, 90Gb/month service, which is quite reasonable. But he uses a cheap IP, i always have to use VPN to make a couple websites load.
I can't subscribe to DSL or anything similar that would require a landline or would take 2-3 months to be installed.

Does anyone know at least a decent provider in the area with reasonable pricing or a reasonable package by any of the giant companies (i doubt that still).

It won't take 2-3 months. They simply won't install any telephone line and wasta won't help unless they changed something this month. (It was a really powerfull wasta too...)

I thought they wanna stop with this wastaa shit ,i abused it once when i switched to ogero , it worked few months ago , they came and installed internet in 4-5 days

Abdel-Moneim Youssef has a more than impressive CV, he used to work abroad in satellites and space programs or something like that. What he lacked is good intentions and ethics... Lets hope this person has those.

I started looking for Youssef's qualifications online, but couldn't find anything about him before his days at Ogero. In any case, the two that have replaced his duties appear to be very qualified and don't appear to be as political as their predessor.

Hopefully good things are coming soon.

Oh yeah, on an aside, I heard from a family friend that Ogero is hiring 200-300 more people. Apparently the orders came out when the new minister was sworn in. So if you are looking for little pay or glory at a government job, then you have an option (sarcasm). :)

Good info, I searched the ogero website but couldn't find any ''career'' tab, I hope it's not another political party employment thingy
