You should only be using a filter on the phone devices, if any are connected to the same line as the modem.

I've got just a......few of those myself as well, and they don't seem to affect me... atleast not in anything noticeable apparently

FEC errors are errors that have been corrected , they don't even need re-transmitting or delays since the time that it takes for processing to correct them is already deducted if you are on an interleaved line, so FEC errors don't affect you in anyway, but it indicates a noisy line.

I requested Ogero to turn off interleaving(that should take effects tomorrow),will I experience delays after that?

I'm not sure but it should work since in Lebanon things work according to usernames and passwords (PPoE) and not based on telephone lines activations (tried different accounts from different ISPS on same landline and they just work without any hassle). Your landline just work as sort of cable connecting you to the central nothing more. I might be wrong but no harm in trying anyway takes a minute to plug the modem into the wall.

well if you turn off interleaving, all these FEC errors will appear as CRC and HEC and you will have horrible delay and throttling due to retransmission and potentially you will lose sync if you get errors in the super frames, but your modem is up since more than 1 day to accumulate these errors which isn't that much, so dunno to what extent you will feel the retransmission. it may work just fine, it all depends on the error-count/sec

@vengeance666 if you didn't ever subscribe to ADSL your line won't be hooked to a port in the central since they will lose a port for no reason.. so you must be subscribed to get ADSL sync

So basically that slams into the ground any micro chances I had of turning off interleaving, as I get on average around ~900 FEC errors a day, and if my line poor attenuation and SN margin doesn't tell me that turning off interleaving isn't feasible those errors will

could be better for sure but you can't know how long is your circuit, could be longer than 1.5km, they usually bridge tap customers to the network when they install the line so your wire can be along the whole circuit which basically acts as an antenna lowering the SNR and also echoing the signal so you get more errors, plus the whole phone network is horrible passing side by side with high voltage lines in some places,there is nothing you can do, anyway you can try fast path if problems arise you can tell them to revert you back no big deal.

your stats are definitely on the low side for being on a "fast path" but it could work 900 fec/day is very low.. but i am afraid the number is 50M and not 50k FEC so that's 900,000/day. restart the router and log the errors in 1 hour and then a day to get an idea because even if the FEC error number is high as i said what matters is the consistent rate per second..for example if you suddenly get 5k errors during a lightning flash and the line retransmits every packet in this second, that doesn't mean the line is bad.

probably yes!You have no errors and good line attenuation.

Hey guys, I've had a look at my stats and they would easily work well without interleaving. The issue is, I'm currently with wise, and whenever I ask them to disable interleaving (8 times already including two emails) they do not reply or just do not know what interleaving is. Twice I've been told there is no such feature.. Any piece of advice? Thanks.
