Hi guys, is there something I can do to accelerate my transition form Wise to Terranet? It's been 2 weeks that Terranet started working on the process I guess but I don't want to spend 2 months! Can I do something to avoid this?
Note that I am not asking directly for a connection, but I think that reducing the waiting time for transfering DSL ISPs from 2 to 1 month using a small bribe isn't an illegal or bad thing..
Thanks

@Truepeace (wasta with Ogero)
friend-evil
@Truepeace Like ironman said, if you know someone important from there, it will be done in less than 3 days.

What's weird is that I don't really have a wasta with Ogero but the whole transition from Sodetel to Ogero took just 10 days.
ironman
Amazing, it took 3 weeks "before the wasta" and 1 day after those 3 weeks + Wasta

No, I don't think so.Boutros Harb hasn't announced anything about it the past couple of weeks in his social media.

this dude is more interested about politics than doing his job, almost all of his tweets/ fb posts are politics related rather than his work.

Exactly, I don't think any Lebanese politician ever said: "No I'm not qualified for this position".
This made me smile.
I googled his educational background: "Being appointed public transport minister for labour and minister of the national education and art schools in 1979 in Salim Hoss's government, and remaining minister until 1980.[6] From 1990 to 1992 Harb returned to the education ministry in the cabinet of then Prime Minister Omar Karame." Source: Wikipedia.
If the environment ministry's next we might have a major trash crisis in Lebanon.

I can't believe they assign inexperienced persons for a high position as a Minister. When you apply to a job in a company, they would ask for a specific experience to handle the job position, but in here it is really deceiving. It's like distributing randomly game cards.
You will see, Harb said in 2020 and once another Minister from another party takes control, he will delay it again..
Adnan
A minister doesn't have to be experienced in the field of his ministry unless it's a technocrats government. :)
I heard some rumours that they might start rolling out fiber optics even before 2020 by the way. But I still expect it to arrive in 2035, at a very high cost.
Louis40
Yeah.. we have an example of a Minister non technocrats admitting that he has no clue of the job he is assigned to.. so things should change in here ;)

Most countries in the world do not use Technocracy, even the most successful ones. It was never the minister's job to do any technical work, nor will it be even in Technocracy. That's the adviser's job, this is why ministries worldwide hire hundreds of advisers to help make technical decisions. Let's not forget that being a minister is not only about upgrading or installing some new stuff. There is a lot of politics that goes with a ministers job. I hope you're not taking this as me defending Lebanon's minster or any politician whatsoever, I hate them as much as the next guy but I'm just clarifying the whole "minister doesn't know what he's doing" if anything people should blame the "Amin 3am" or Abed El Menhem Youssef who a lot believe is behind all the corruption in the internet sector in Lebanon after the social media campaign that was started to expose him then ultimately failing.

Yes i am aware of the third party colleagues who are behind the scene doing the job and concluding to give the Minister the decisions he should make. There are certain sectors that have the right Ministers for the job according to the experience and educations, but what bothers me are those that have no clue of what they are doing and just repeat what they have been told.
Regarding corruptions, a major wipe out should be made in Lebanon. New rules should be made to all politicians willing to take over any Ministry by exposing his bank accounts, assets in Lebanon and abroad at the beginning of his duty and when he leaves. This is happening abroad so why not in here..etc..

Hello fellow geeks,
So i was thinking about changing my ISP, and this time , i will be choosing an isp that can deliver me an internet that fits my needs.
So i want an internet that will let me stream on twitch while playing cs go or dota, I live in mount lebanon, i don't think dsl can deliver an internet that is faster than 1Mbps.
Thanks in advance for your help!!
NAM
there is no ISP (in my knowledge) that gives an upload more than 1mbps and most of the time they will give you only 512kbps (even when they say 1mbps) .
As for a solution there is always 4g (very expensive option though)
Another option would be bridging/bonding two or more connections and working them as one (you need more than one land line)
