I am sick of them and their lies , I wish I don't have 50$ in my sodetel wallet , I would have changed ISP today.
My friend next door is getting 90 ms from cyberia .
pings to Google are now 85-90 ms, will keep you guys updated every 3 hours
While tracing route to Google, a new server appeared, home-DSl.sodetel.net.lb 89.108.172.1. before it was 212. something.
guys who's still experiencing latency trace to Google and see if you pass by this server.

You arent routed to the new server, still at 212 give it some hours. Try restarting the router
My latency is back to normal for now, here's a traceroute :

The internet went down for 5min , and the ping is back 95ms thank god.
Good 89 server confirmed
So it's been a week with painfully slow torrent downloads, but find direct download speeds.
Painfully slow as in around 1 kbps. It's driving me mad. It sometimes gets a bit faster, but nowhere near the old speeds of 600-700 kbps.
I tried using different torrent clients, different devices (laptop, desktop, phone), checked my firewall, restarted the modem and router, tried downloading during the day, tried different torrents.. Nothing worked.
Is anyone else facing the same issues?
Last thing I will be trying tomorrow is connecting a laptop to the modem through an Ethernet cable. If that doesn't work, I'll have to call them. However, I hope they are not throttling me.
I was wondering if anyone was experiencing Viber throttling ? I can't even make a decent call ! Or is it just me ?
Hey Adnan, I spoke on Viber two days ago, at 5:30 am, it was working great for me.
this is absolutely ridiculous, ping for diablo 3 is jumping between 1900 and 2500 ms! I am the only one connected to the router, I don't even have my phone connected to it just the laptop, and this is the ping! if ping doesn't improve beginning of next month, I am changing ISP's maybe go back to wise...I have the 1mb unlimited btw....
Anything about the new plans?
Anything about the new plans?
I sent them an email yesterday asking them about the new plans and what would happen to us (1mbps unlimited subscribers)
i'll let you know when they reply.

This will be their exact reply:
"Hello {name} , our new plans and prices will be announced very soon. Have a nice day"
Not being helpful AT ALL like any support in any company unfortunately.
At least they replied to you, unlike Cyberia.

Exactly, they totally ignored my email

Ping is known to be horrible for the unlimited plans. Switch to a non-unlimited plan. Just postpone all your downloads or schedule your download managers/torrent clients/steam to work between 12-8 am.

By the way, it has been horrible for me (6-8 mbps plan). I can't even load a youtube video at 720p (even sometimes at 480p) without pausing it. I have decided to switch to Ogero once the new plans come along.

Same here, 6-8 Mbps getting less than 1M speed.
Ping to google.com is low at 75ms but there are lots of timeouts, which I think is the cause of this erratic speed.

Yea, and each time I get to a point with them when I have to connect directly to my modem through an Ethernet cable (My modem and router are separate) to "test" some things, but I don't have any laptop with an Ethernet port. The solution is to buy an Ethernet cable that is long enough to reach the desktop in my bedroom, but I've been pretty lazy.

Or... Move your desktop near your router and buy a long HDMI/VGA cable for the nearest screen instead!

It's not your PC or modem or telephone line, it's Sodetel and they never admit it. They always give out the same excuses and guess what, it's the customer's fault. Customer service is dipping to new lows.
It's getting really bad, and Sodetel, as usual, is not acknowledging the issue?
Anyone else?
ping is down! its really well, world of tanks and diablo 3 aren't lagging at all, getting a ping of 120 ms on both of them. And getting a ping of 90 ms from google.com
hope it stays this way, 1mb unlimited btw
