That simply confirms yasamoka's post. But that does not mean that if your connection is 1Mbps, it's going to boost it to 4Mbps, not even to a 1.1Mbps. It simply means that it will cut down on the time it needs to resolve and locate the requested content, but it won't make the rate at which the bytes are transferred over the internet any faster.

Well, if your ISP's DNS server updates regularly, and doesn't need to redirect DNS requests to another DNS server, then the latency involved in DNS resolution would be equal to the latency between you and the ISP. Since this is naturally the lowest latency possible concerning any connection you make with an external IP address using your internet connection, then it makes sense that public DNS servers would not offer improvement over the ISP's ones. However, for less common URLs, a public DNS server may offer lower latencies to resolve the IP address of the domain name requested.

Now in order to have unlimited night traffic with Ogero:
1- You should wait for it to be published in the official gazette.
2- Once posted it will be applied on the beginning of the next month.
3- The beginning of the "next month" you will contact Ogero they will tell you they didn't hear about it yet.
4- Then when Ogero hears about it they will say their servers and infrastructure cannot handle it.
5- They will borrow a couple of routers and servers from a private company again.
6- They will start implementing this new feature on a slow pace, 4-5 centrals each month.
7- Goodbye QoS.

So the whole process, if everything went as planned, will take about 5-6 months.

The way the system works here, it will take a few months from people to leave one ISP for another, so there is still time....

and you talk as if everyone will be downloading all day long, off-course out of the unlimited times alot of people won't think to bypass their limits due to the overcharges :P

also let's not forget that Lebanon's international bandwidth is increasing bit by bit.. from 2 to 3Gbit/s.. then over time from 3 to 23gbit/s(now) hopefully to 33gbit/s in the "coming weeks".. which should help reduce the effects of more users downloading alot at the same time

I'm used to paying 100,000L.L+ Extra for the consumption.. hopefully with this option I can finally save some money :P

Completely unfair for users who are still on 256kbit connections and have not been upgraded.

I could easily "steal" from these Blink wifi networks anyway, but my conscious is just too good for that; its slowly reclining though.
