Anyone notice some throttling on Torrents these days? I'm on the unlimited package and way below the FUP

EDIT: Nevermind, I restarted the router to get a new IP and things worked out.
أنا كمان عندي هيك لتورنتس كلن
IDK if it's more the seeders or just ogero, it's so frustrating

Hello everyone! First post here.

I am experiencing insane lag on OGERO Fiber at the office.

When I start a speed test, it is stuck at 0 mbps for 20 seconds and then goes to 200 Mbps

With some basic programs I use at the office, I get notifications that some ports are blocked by a firewall (1 out of 2 times)

Even with Google, it sometimes says "unable to to connect to the server at google.com" but ends up working after some tries.

I wont start with Youtube, so slow but once the video starts it stars, but it can take 2 minutes to do so.

In General internet is super laggy and slow.

Funny fact is that at my house I do not have this issue (both house and office are in Hazmieh)

I see that a lot of you are experiencing this issue.

Changing the router will help or not at all?
Unfortunately I don't have fiber, but I have had issues with the regular dsl. What seems to help was changing the DNS from whatever they had to either cloudfares or Google's or a combination. I went with 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.4.4 as my dns addresses and it seemed to improve it.

I tried it but it didnt work.
I am really baffled. I live 5 minutes away from the office and the fiber at home has no issue at all (I hope i didnt jynx it )
I am trying to connect my fiber modem to the router tp link to boost the signal, unfortunately the router is not seeing the connection coming from the modem.
Connected by cat6 cable from LAN 1 port on the modem to WAN port on the router.
I tried to connect the modem to my pc by cable and it's getting internet flawlessly.
So what am I missing?

What happens when you set the WAN connection to a dynamic IP? (on the second router you're trying to connect) Does it connect? Also, make sure that they don't have the same gateway.
Took it to idm, they set it up as cloning the modem to router, it's working now but I can't access my router settings anymore, so if I want to change my wifi password, I can't

Is anybody having problems logging in to Ogero's website to check consumption? It keeps saying Wrong Username / Password Combination, although I haven't changed anything and am used to checking it multiple times daily.

EDIT: Never mind, they fixed it.

Hello Geeks!

I really hope everyone is doing well.

I need you to read this post carefully - I'm not trying to stir up drama, just looking for some real help.
I think Ogero is capping DSL/VDSL speeds beyond just the usual distance/line quality issues. I can see this in my own connection, and I believe I've found a way to "partially bypass" these caps, which basically proves they're digitally limiting speeds.

I'm just gonna give you an "example" of what it sounds like (i will not disclose technicalities):
You sign up for an "Open Speed 500GB" package. Ogero checks the line and says it could get "up to 10Mbps maximum." After installation, you notice it was getting around 7-8Mbps at best. You call customer service/1515/1516, they give you the standard explanations - distance from the box, cable length, expected 1Mbps drop from maximum, area congestion, etc.
But then you do something to your modem (not the Ogero one), and suddenly you get 12Mbps! Even better, this improved speed stays consistent for days.

This makes me strongly believe they're digitally capping my line - and probably others too. I don't know if it's for business reasons, political stuff, or just outdated equipment, but something's definitely up. What's frustrating is when I've tried asking about this politely, some managers at Ogero get weirdly defensive. I think they either don't understand the technical side or they're just trying to brush me off.

What's even more frustrating is that previously (in my old house in Hadath/Hadat) the distance to the box was around 700m and the DSL speed was reaching 18Mbps
But now in my new house in Mazraa, the distance to the box is less than 400m and a VDSL speed is reaching 11Mbps at peak.

Some Ogero employee even told me the other day: Even though your line says "VDSL" but it is actually NOT, you are on DSL, because there is not enough slots for another VDSL line / user (i didn't understand what the duck this supposed to mean)

Does anyone here have a contact inside Ogero who could help me investigate this properly? I just want my connection to run at its actual potential speed.

Edit: Added locations for clarity

I've noticed that and it's obvious. I'm capped at something around 8 to 8.5 mbps while I easily used to reach around 11 mbps. This has been going on for the past couple of years at least.

    What did you do?
