  • Lebanese lira to USD exchange

user wroteAnd we simply travel by bus, same bus shapes as in Lebanon,
You can't compare buses in Canada with Lebanon. Have you ever taken a minibus ride in Lebanon? You only need to take 2 or 3 to have enough trauma for the whole summer.

I am sure that if we have a bus network in Lebanon with the same coverage and standards that you can expect in Canada, many more will chose to ride the bus instead of their car.

Tech Guru wrote Similar to the current existence of a cash dollar in the market and a lollar (or bank dollar), a cash lira and a bira (or bank lira) will be introduced. As with the lollar, so is the bira.
Why isn't the "bank dollar" called bollar then if the "bank lira" is going to be called bira?
I heard that every sect will be getting their own quota, so you will have mbiras, subiras (maybe they will change the name), shlollars and قlollars.

Every sect will also have their own exchange rate so there will be 54 exchange rates for USD.

They just said 2 different things in the same time, they said that there is no limits from BDL but they will start getting LBP not in cash fully, so they are urging people to use Cards and Transfers, so they basically confirming the LBP limit but with some sugar on top it

Agian , I warn selling your USD for LBP now. USD/LBP rate is now below 7000 as a political atmosphere to float a new cabinet formation and prevail a new atmosphere. Personally , I don't trust that. Old similar scenarios associated with fake promises happened before. They will collect USD from people , then negative remifications will happen that will make it rise again.

Lebanon needs the injection of USD 15 billion , in any form, to increase USD supply in the economy. This will only happen if a cabinet is formed as soon as possible with practicle and real reshuffle matching IMF and France demands. Otherwise , USD will exponentially incrase against LBP.
So the complaint was the lack of USD and demand being too high for the supply which eventually inflated the value of the dollar. And now people are rushing to sell enough dollars to deflate its value. The reasoning is that they had enough dollars to begin with but were hiding them from the government, a wise choice if you ask me. So what happens next? The government gets this supply of save/hidden dollars and we fall into an even worse situation?
Without real injection to increase the supply, these are all repeated games to let people sell their saved USD at homes in afraid the usd will fall more. They will collect USDs , a similar manoeuvre happened when they elected the ex PM. #Notrust

The aim of BDL is to collect USD , by all means, to extend the period for removing subsidies on bread , gasoline , and medicines. As such , these manoeuvres will inject some USDs to the BDL reserves.

Are people really betting their hopes on politics, that a cabinet would be formed, that Hariri would be PM? Like these things never happened in the past.
Specially that the same corrupted people will choose one of their friend as minister
nothing is corrupt in lebanon more than the lebanese themselves i have seen lot of cultures in my lifetime and lebanese people with all my respect to the good few like you guys around here, i don't blame the politicians at all good for them they have bunch of clowns with medieval minds following them with the mentality that they are protecting their existence from other sects. this will never change I not being pessimistic but that is our reality, naive people following leaders and religion can't get worse.

People generally need to be policed or else they will mess up everything. That is why we have the notion of governments and authorities.
Normal human beings are expected to elect people who will enforce rules, guidelines, and make sure everything is running properly. This is in addition to regularly developing and integrating economic, academic, and infrastructural improvements that add sustainability to basic services which in turn can sustain anything above them such industries, businesses, hospitals, schools, and public institutions. We are missing the basic foundation for a sustainable country. We need a major reform.
Lebanese people, on the other hand, elect incompetent politicians who are as corrupt and the citizens.

I know people who have benefited from politicians. Many rich people would be homeless without Michel Aoun or Harriri or your favorite political party leader. But not everyone did benefit and not everyone even supports political parties. I visited several political party headquarters (parties from different religions and backgrounds) in the last few years asking for help or direction. They all rejected me.

My current employer distrusts politicians as much as I do. Although I make sure I do not engage in such conversations with him, I hear him expressing his opinions to other coworkers and I agree with the sentiments.
Does anyone know how the withdrawal amount/week in LBP accounts at Audi bank ended up?

Also, not all will have actual dollars, and they will try to give you dollars at the black market rate. If you need the dollars, look around at more than one place.

Yes, go to their main office in Tayouneh. This is the best option as the others maybe will not give you the whole amount in $.

Most of them are giving fresh dollars as far as i know.

You can always ask if they have dollars before you give them the number.
