if you friend someone and then go online and join a game he can follow you to the same lobby or game if it already started (and there are places)

It all depends on the game. Some games depend on P2P connections and others rely on servers. But in any case, since you're in Canada you'd have the best connection with people in the US or Canada.

btw i can't connect to xbox live it says i don't have sufficient MTu it should be 1364 minimum , i checked anything my MTU is 1480 anybody can help? Btw i have a tp link WR340G router.
