stickypad
http://www.greeneclipse.com/stickypad.html

StickyPad is an invaluable, easy-to-use tool that lets you place sticky notes on your desktop. You can type notes to yourself, set meeting and appointment reminders, keep track of a to-do list, and anything else you would do with paper notes. Your notes can be printed, pasted into other applications, or emailed to coworkers. You can even make notes translucent and have them float above your other windows, so you can see both your note and what you are working on. When you log off, StickyPad remembers all of your notes, and when you log back on, your notes are still there. Once you try it, you won't want to work without StickyPad again.

Well, this might be helpful for some.

Giveaway Of The Day
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

A small description from the about page

The idea behind this initiative is that many sites and publishers offer trial downloads; but only we offer giveaway downloads. What does that mean?

Basically, every day we nominate one software title that will be a Giveaway title of that day. The software will be available for download for 24 hours (or more, if agreed by software publisher) and that software will be absolutely free. That means - not a trial, not a limited version - but a registered and legal version of the software will be free for our visitors*.

The software product will be presented in its full functionality, without any limitations save for those mentioned in Terms and Conditions.

ClipX !
http://bluemars.org/clipx/

Very simple, yet fundamental , I don't see why it is not implemented as default behavior into the OSes.
i use it heavily as developer :)

all it does is remember your clipboard, even between restarts, like this when you copy something it is still available and has google search availability
Ctrl + Shift + V and you view the list of your previously copied items, i just copy many times what i want from somewhere and paste it later.. saves you all the flipping between windows
and you have keyboard shortcut for it .. no need to move to the mouse

and if there is something you already copied... it is there.. no need to think where you had that from
priceless for me

Re: An App'a'Day will keep the headaches away!

Hello

I read about this application months ago, but didn't have the chance to try it until last week. It's an app that make your win7 turn into a hotspot wifi to share your internet connection in just one click. Super fast, no configuration to do no nothing. I actually used it in a lab to share the internet connection that was only working on my pc to 10 other people I guess or maybe a bit less.

You can go check it out on http://www.connectify.me/

Synergy
http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).

Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all. Learn more about how it works.

WinDirStat
http://windirstat.info/

WinDirStat is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft Windows. On start up, it reads the whole directory tree once and then presents it in three useful views:

* The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,
*The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,
*The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.

The treemap represents each file as a colored rectangle, the area of which is proportional to the file's size. The rectangles are arranged in such a way, that directories again make up rectangles, which contain all their files and subdirectories. So their area is proportional to the size of the subtrees. The color of a rectangle indicates the type of the file, as shown in the extension list. The cushion shading additionally brings out the directory structure.
