DSH
http://freshmeat.net/projects/dsh/

dsh (the distributed shell) is a program which executes a single command on multiple remote machines. It can execute this command in parallel (i.e., on any number of machines at a time) or in serial (by specifying parallel execution of the command on 1 node at a time). It was originally designed to work with rsh, but has full support for ssh and with a little tweaking of the top part of the dsh executable, should work with any program that allows remote execution of a command without an interactive login.

printscreen
http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

Want to create a screenshot suitable for saving or printing? Then just hit a key on your keyboard. Oh yeah, you'll have to download this program first.

There are several hotkey combos to choose from (PrintScreen is the default). Once you've chosen your favorite combo, head to the Destination tab and have the screen print out instantly, copy the capture to the clipboard, save it to a specific folder, or even send it through e-mail. You can perform full screen captures, or only capture a specific window.

Gadwin PrintScreen is an easy to use freeware utility that allows you to capture any portion of the screen, save it to a file, copy it to Windows clipboard, print it or e-mail it to a recipient of your choice.

There are also six different image formats to choose from, and each one can be resized. With all the customization capabilities, what more could you ask for?

Re: An App'a'Day will keep the headaches away!

In firefox extentions, check feed sidebar, a nice small sidebar for checking your unread rss feeds. it is supposed to alert you when you get a new feed but that function doesnt seem to work.
I tend to have too many bookmarks (coz i often think that something im reading might serve me later), so many that i get lost. I found this extension called taboo, it adds a button which will save the page. Then you can see thumbnails from your saved pages and search in their content using the same extension.

edit -  im wrong yo cant search page contents... yo can only search titles, and it will only save the address... that scks i wish it saved the page for offline reading and searching.

TreeSize
http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/index.shtml

Every hard disk is too small if you just wait long enough. TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to. TreeSize Free can be started from the context menu of a folder or drive and shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. You can expand this folder in Explorer-like style and you will see the size of every subfolder. Scanning is done in a thread, so you can already see results while TreeSize Free is working. The space, which is wasted by the file system, can be displayed and the results can be printed in a report. TreeSize Free is freeware for Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Users of Windows 9x/ME can download last compatible version

IZPACK
http://izpack.org/

For a long while  I either did manual hacks for routine installations or then again used NULLSOFT but now there is a cross platform alternative; IZPACK

IzPack is a one-stop solution for packaging, distributing and deploying applications.

It is fully cross-platform and generates a single installer. As such, it is an alternative to native solutions such as platform-specific installers and package managers.

IzPack-generated installers only require a Java virtual machine to run.

NTFS Streams
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi … 97440.aspx

The NTFS file system provides applications the ability to create alternate data streams of information. By default, all data is stored in a file's main unnamed data stream, but by using the syntax 'file:stream', you are able to read and write to alternates. Not all applications are written to access alternate streams, but you can demonstrate streams very simply. First, change to a directory on a NTFS drive from within a command prompt. Next, type 'echo hello > test:stream'. You've just created a stream named 'stream' that is associated with the file 'test'. Note that when you look at the size of test it is reported as 0, and the file looks empty when opened in any text editor. To see your stream enter 'more < test:stream' (the type command doesn't accept stream syntax so you have to use more).

rocket dock
http://rocketdock.com

Have you ever glanced over the shoulder of a Mac user and seen the nifty little bar of icons at the bottom of their screen? This is known as a "dock." For those of you that haven't seen this, a dock is simply a bar that can be set to the edge of your screen with a background and a row of shortcut icons. The function of a dock is to bring quick access to these shortcuts in an organized fashion relieving your desktop of clutter. It acts much like the Quick Launch, pointing each icon to the original folder or file.

Note: RocketDock does not remove, replace, store, duplicate, or backup any of the items you drag into the dock. You should never delete the original items. Dock shortcuts are not stored as files and cannot be dragged back onto the desktop or anywhere else.
