The HD 7950 now costs as the same price as the 660Ti. You should get that if you're going to import it from outside. The 7950 is one of AMD's high end cards and will perform a lot better than the 660Ti in compute tasks (Which all new games are going to be based on) So you'll be more future proof. If you want PhysX you can always grab any Nvidia card and stick it in your motherboard and then BAM. You have PhysX and all other Nvidia card features on an AMD card.

i think you got me wrong,i dont mean to upgrade my pc,no i am planning on buying a whole new gaming laptop:)
if you know more about these things, please help me,cause im not really positive about the msi,i asked pc specialist,he said the msi is not really a respectable company,i trust that guy,hes a family friend,he doesnt charge people for formatting their pcs plus he even tells them how to do it on their own,its pretty easy, anyway your help would really be appreaciated

MSI high-end laptops are pretty good. But Asus G series are better. They are literally designed for gaming and have tons of cool features. But wouldn't advise you to get a gaming laptop because they run hot, not reliable, don't perform as well as desktops and aren't customizable. Not to mention, upgrading them is very limited and if it needs repairing you have put some fair amount of money. Also to note that a GTX 580M = 560Ti so don't think that the reviews which you're seeing are also refereed for the GTX 660Ti. I would suggest you getting a gaming PC instead of a laptop any day except if mobility is mandatory.

well i can always get a cooling pad which make it run as cool as a desktop!!

Re: Battlefield - Game Thread

A cooling pad only supplies it with fresh air, it's not a direct airflow / pressure cooling effect...what this means is that you're only providing room temperature air for your laptop to cool itself with, you're still bottlenecked and relying on the laptop's own cooling system.

However a cooling pad certainly does help, as it lowered my HP laptop's temperature from around 80-82C to around 67C with the CPU stressed to 100%. Again, this is an AMD Turion X2 @2.3GHz and an AMD Radeon HD4650, pretty low-midrange hardware for its time, and HP cooling crap (at least it was, don't know now), but still, the point stands.

You need much more powerful hardware, and much better cooling.

Laptops can easily run above the temperatures recommended for the hardware equivalent on the desktop. (I don't mean it can take those temps, I mean it can easily go above them, this is not good). If a desktop chip's recommended temp is 73C, a lower frequency laptop CPU with same architecture and family would most probably run higher than that, while on a desktop, aftermarket cooling almost always gets you much lower than that, and allows you to OC as well.

Just my 2 yen.

I don't know if it works on BF3 since I didn't play it yet, but when I get stuck on a server on MW3, what I do is, I open up chat and start cussing, swearing and eventually I get kicked out of the server.

I am Premium BF3 both on PS3 and PC now :)
Well on PS3, I dont think you can purchase them Via credit card, because it all depends on which region is your account.
1st: If its Lebanese, then there isnt any online gaming with that account (as far as i know)
2nd: If its any other account, you cannot use your credit card on them.

So your only choice is to buy PSN cards.
They are available @PcandParts for both US and UK accounts only.
And you wont find them elsewhere in Lebanon other than them,

Just to clarify, creating a PSN account on PS3 with Lebanon as region grants you full access for online gaming except the PlayStation Store. So even Online Passes should be redeemed from another account on the same console.

Re: Battlefield - Game Thread

So i ordered a 20$ psn card from nino to buy one of the battlefield 3 dlc's, which is better ?
Note that i played battlefield 2 and loved the maps
So based on your experiences which one is the best?

Re: Battlefield - Game Thread

You should consider about ordering another 20$ PSN Card, and just get Battlefield 3 Premium. (Although i think its more than 40$)
You Will then have access to ALL current and upcoming DLC's later on.

Guys,
My BF3 Coop is not working, on battlelog i am stuck on Initializing.
Origin launches the game perfectly, it even launches in task manager, but the actual game doesnt open.
Multiplayer and campaign are working very fine though.

I searched everywhere and even contacted EA support but no luck..

Anyone had this issue before ?! How do i solve it ?!!

I know this may be alot to ask, for I need an origin account to check if battlefield 3 works well on my PC considering that my computer is quite outdated. I only want to install battlefield and play a game to see if it works well and you will never access the account again.

I can share mine with you, but be careful that it's a 25GB or so download. You might want to get the files if you can't / not willing to wait for downloading them.

Sure i'm okay with a download if the origin servers are stable enough liek the steam ones, are they?

Re: Battlefield - Game Thread

Hi.

I'm new to Lebgeeks and BF3.

I will buy BF3 for the PS3 or for PC but I have doubts that I won't be able to enter online on either platforms. And it's a pain to regret buying it if it won't work.

I hope that PC or PS3 people who have the game and played it online know the answers.

- PC:
At pages 1, 2 and 5 of this thread I read that they needed a VPN. Why is that? Are there any problems with Origin? Doesn't Origin download updates properly without a VPN?

- PS3:
Does anyone actually play BF3 using a PSN account created for US or Europe region? Does creating another region account work in Lebanon without breaching any PSN or EA rules?
