  • Lebanese vs international baccalaureate

hey im applying for university and got lebanese baccalaureate.in the application it asks (Have you written or will you write International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) College Board examinations?)
is the lebanese baccalaureate counted as an international baccalaureate??plz help
nop. the IB is something else. much harder friends who did it say...
No the Lebanese Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate are not the same. In fact, the only IB schools I know of are ACS, IC (Ain Aar and Ras Beirut), German School of Beirut, Makassed Hussam El-Dine Hariri High School (very recently), and of course Wellspring Community College.
IB is the easiest at my school (IC) Everyone says its hard who are actually in it, yet the class average is 80 compared to a 70 in scientific and a person who was barley passing in seconde and went IB suddenly has a 75-80 average.

I second this. Averages are MUCH higher in IB. They say it makes you drop dead with the load they sometimes have, though.

I'm at IC too... well this was my last year.

IB is not considered as an equivalent to the Lebanese Baccalaureate but the french one is.
IB is lot more easier than the two other bacs, this year more than 1/2 of the IB students got a distinction while less than 1/4 of the Lebanese baccalaureate students got a distinction at school.
akeeeeeeeeed IB is easier.. lets see taking art theater environmental and easy arabic is much harder than taking biology physics and chemistry
dunno what the situation is in lebanon but back in the days, the IB quality was very quetionable and i very much suspect that it has not improved since then. here in europe, at least where i live, IB is considered to be twice harder than the local curriculum. the local curriculum has been internationally awarded and is recognized to be of the best and yet IB is considered to be tougher. even in europe in general the IB is considered to be tougher.
