just a question, can we do the same thing on a blackberry to make apps run on wifi instead BIS? thanks in advance.
[Android] Whatsapp on WAP
you mean blackberry messenger? there were some tricks to make the gmail app work but as far as I am concerned BBM could only work with a bis plan

Way I think of it is this:khalil13 wrotejust a question, can we do the same thing on a blackberry to make apps run on wifi instead BIS? thanks in advance.
If you can make such an app run on Wifi, then it has to connect to a server that accepts wifi connections. Meaning not the RIM servers. To chat with somebody, let's say, who is using BB services over BIS, he would be connected to the RIM servers. Hence this wifi server would need to have BIS subscriptions and pass on your messages to the RIM server with a fake identity.
Now what you could do is have somebody else run these services off that same wifi server then you would be able to chat with him.
Check this out to get what i mean: http://www.alteriw.net
This is an alternative server to IW.net, the server that CoD games run on. You patch your game, and you can play using that server. But you cannot connect to the original server.

Hey there, i have been a WAP user on my previous samsung Wave phone, and now on the SGS2 wanted for the WAP to work on Whatsapp, but is there a way to avoid rooting my S2? Is there an app that enables the WAP usage on apps without the rooting? Any Help appreciated.
No you must root the phone to allow transparent proxying. Don't worry you don't loose anything if you root the phone, and of course not the warranty. You can root/unroot your phone in less than a minute with superoneclick.mewar wroteIs there an app that enables the WAP usage on apps without the rooting?

Do all apps work with WAP on Android?
Whatsapp, Twitter, browsing?
Do push notifications work too?
Can one use the 20MB per month for Whatsapp and Twitter push notifications?

Whatsapp consumes between 0.5 and 3MB per day if left on push notifications
Don't use WAP for twitter notifications!
Use Droidwall to prevent all applications except Whatsapp and Internet (and other web browsers) from getting the internet

Did this work for MTC users?

Is there a way to make it run on s40 devices( c3)?

Your mobile is already WAP enables device. You just have to acquire the configuration... It is done automatically when you subscribe...
