  • Asus GTX 560Ti can't open 1440x900 through DVI

shant wrotetry a different DVI cable, you never know
if it's the DVI cable i swear im gonna kill myself .
yasamoka wroteDude look...you didn't even troubleshoot yet...all you got is some random trial and error procedures that are inconclusive. Basically you have 5 variables:

1) System
2) Graphics Card
3) Drivers
4) Cable
5) Monitor

Change one at a time and see where the problem lies.
1) i can't try it in a different system since i don't have another system that has a PC-E x16 slot on it
2) I know its not the graphics card
3) i know its the drivers because if i use XP and the XP version of the drivers i can find 1440x900 (by default)
4)Its not the cable
5) Could be...but i don't have another DVI monitor available

so its definetally a 64-bit driver issue since the 32-bit XP is running OK.
That might sound odd, but I suggest you to format your system, just be sure first if the specific resolution works on another monitor. I doubt it has anything to do with your DVI cable or the Nvidia card.

Edit: what is your OS?

I formated my PC the day i got it with the help of shant
i think its the reason because of the nvidia 64bit drivers because on a 32bit XP its all ok
also my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
mate, its not that hard to try a different dvi cable, you never know what might cause the trouble, you can't just "know" its the dvi cable without trying a different one :P

alright, as long as you are at home on saturday
If the XP drivers work, then it's not necessarily a driver issue. It may be a compatibility issue between system and driver. Try an older driver. If the XP driver works with the default DVI cable, then it's not the cable.
