if only activision would update their damn graphics engine!
make use of directx 11 or even 10 at least!
and yeah, i don't get how they game fps games with controllers too :P
I think some of you might not know about this. Did you know IW Engine that the whole CoD franchise is built upon, is actually heavily based on id Tech 3?
Monkey D. Luffy wroteSpeaking about COD, having played it on 360, I would say that you cannot compare MW series and the others (world at war, black ops)
Black Ops is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than MW
BF3 is okay but I'd rather play COD
Plus the graphics in COD are much better as well as the handling, story etc
The bolded bit just too painful to read, Luffy-san, are you sure you know what are you talking about ?

MW3 is built on an updated version of id Tech 3 engine. That's based on the 9 year old Quake III arena engine, and same tech used in Call of Duty 1 back from 2003. It's as static and scripted as Duck Hunt. So don't compare Frostbite2-powered BF3 with MW3 technically - it's a blasphemy :P

In general, (my opinion) MW3 will be just another map pack DLC with a 5 hour campaign and yet again will sell millions. You simply cannot compare BF with CoD.

CoD is developed to offer a noob-friendly arcadish run and gun experience - sure it's fun, but Bobby just decided to over-milk the heck out of the IP to the extent that he ruined it.

BF on the other hand depends more on teamplay, has vehicles, jets, huge maps, and of course the touted destruction - other than that, the sound effects are pure bliss in BC2 and even sound more amazing in BF3.

@Kareem, Kojima tweeted last month about the tank footage in BF3. I saved it :P
Hideo Kojima wrote:
The tank battle image from "BATTLEFIELD 3" is brilliant! It is the best I have ever seen in the last five years. "DICE" is great.
+1 for MegaCool, what we already seen and know about BF3 straight puts it in another league not even comparable to COD or other lay shooters...and to hear someone say: "Plus the graphics in COD are much better as well as the handling, story etc" Monkey D. Luffy, I think you were in another dimension when you said this, it doesn't make even the slightest of sense;

COD is NOT known for its good graphics, it's not really a graphically appealing game, but i am not saying that it's bad...and the Handling in COD has been the same since the first COD game the Adam and Eve played...Story wise, there's never an important or major story in an FPS, the story is always just a reason for the player to go around shooting people...

@Kareem, in my opinion, as to why would Kojima have interest in BF3, it's because usually FPS genre is always attractive but the recent flooding of FPSs in the gaming industry has been quite destructive but then even besides that fact 1 or 2 games can shine and make sense to exist, in this case it will be BF3...
lol never imagined that my comment would unleash such a polemic :P
Anyway what I LOVE in CoD Black Ops is the Zombie mode :D
Monkey D. Luffy wrotelol never imagined that my comment would unleash such a polemic :P

now to wish for a real zombie apocalypse and count corpses! cod in real life ;)
Thanks megacool you spared me some typing. Battlefield games have always been squad based and tactical where ad cod have always been just round the mill insta spawn shoot em up games. I personally prefer battlefield combat since it doesn't make me feel like a rat stuck in a map where we keep re spawning and shooting like crazy and more often getting killed by the same guy I iced 2 seconds ago.

I think the "better graphics" he was talking about is the 60 fps achieved on the console since COD is just rendered at a lower resolution and up-scaled.

The reason cod got so popular is their vigorous marketing (tv ads by known actors, rappers getting paid to promote , etc...) and the rewarding aspect of it ... You get rewarded even for being a complete failure. My fried even achieved a prestige without knowinh much of the game, while in battlefield you need to be a master to reach the highest level ( not and easy feat ).

Plus the fact that two companies produce the cod series shows the business aspect of the game is heavy (don't expect a zombies map from infinity ward in mw3 that's treyarch's specialty).

Through my experience the only people I've run into on cod online are rednecks and children and that's the ps3 version so I expect xbox to be much worse.
LMAO @unforgiven, "Through my experience the only people I've run into on cod online are rednecks and children and that's the ps3 version so I expect xbox to be much worse."

But really, what you said is true, it's REALLY hard and time consuming to lvl up and unlock weapons...BattleField is no child's play, even the sniper is no point and shoot, u have to consider distance and trajectory; but that's the beauty of it...I hate being knifed in COD by a 10 year old thinking he just went pro...
Just a comment on the fps regarding consoles.

Since your TVs are capped at 24 and 25fps (PAL and NTSC), does it really matter if your game is running at 30 or 60 or 120fps ?
It is much more complicated....
Because the normal CRT TV is interlaced so the actual way of processing the frame is half the advertised 50/60Hz on a CRT TV. While an LCD by default progressively processes an image the 60/50 Hz are 50Hz and 60Hz (or Frame per second). And most if not every LCD TV is capable of 60Hz and 50Hz PAL or NTSC because you are using video mode like HDMI or component.
Now dont think that those advertised 100Hz or 120Hz are actually 100 or 120 frames per seconds because the TV no way can process this. It is only done by some techniques that simulate the effect.....
Keep in mind that some PC monitors does have 120Hz(True) as an option.
Battlefield 3 FTW, simply because I hate Bobby Kotick and I also hate subliminal messages in my games (Yes, I'm talking about Modern Warfare series).

I'll probably get MW3 cracked, but for BF3 I already have it on Pre-Order :D
Khaled wroteas of the MW2 being better than BO on ps3 yr right in saying taht, too bad the game wasnt properly finished like it was promised.. i think a fellow member here (The MMMs) can personally rely on that :P (personal bad experience lol)
I would give Blackops a near 0 rating on PS3 if i reviewed it

Piece of buggy crap; over priced DLC for OUR region (18.99$ for map content) .. other regions are 14.99 and 16.99 if you do the conversion properly

Not to mention the DLC will work (i downloaded the 2nd pack pack on a 256kb/s ogero connection with 3GB limit, and its 2.2GB and the download was corrupt) at first i thought it was our internet, but a quick google of " Escalation wont install corruption PS3 14%" on google will back me up here if nobody believes me, seriously treyarch and their stupid game engine messed up bad and people got refunds for this content .. BUT me.

The Graphics look like someone was sick over the TV, and then someone rinsed it with water

The mechanics seem wrong, and the weapon sounds are just poor; and the only usable guns are the FAMAS and the AK74u (you can add the commando, galil, and ak47 but the famas will win other those any time)

The knifing was RUINED after the patch, they patched it quite badly; they made it almost unhuman to knife somebody now, seriously how hard can it be ?

They did a pretty crap job on the PS3 .. although for some reason i find myself still playing it though, but much less than i thought i would.

Guess ill be going PC for mw3 as my FIRST choice, and then i may pick it up for the Pee S 3 if it were just as good as MW2 on the PS3.
Shatilov wroteI'll probably get MW3 cracked, but for BF3 I already have it on Pre-Order :D
shatilov is your game import service still open ?

since i heard that EA will put BF3 on their Stupid origins store, so i guess ill have to buy the disc based version (not that i have a problem other than the fact that we may not get it here)
