I can't get it, the ping from host to DSLAM over ADSL is in the range of 50-70ms over phone line. I don't think that will change anyway unless we get separate connection over ethernet cables.ILIA_93 wroteAll of you, expect less than 50ms ping when you're connected to fiber optics. But this will take time.

I live in bchamoon, and im on the same central Khaldeh. I have yet to test my ping. Please state your source for the fiber optics implications in the khaldeh central.Mhmd wrote@xazbrat , you're in Aramoun and you're Central is khalde ??
Because the khalde central was implemented with fiber optics infrastructure !
Same thing happening to me in the past 3 days or so. Ping was great, now not so good i.e. like before.DG wroteOgero's ping is worse.
I used to have 117ms to bbc.co.uk ... it's now 150ms.
Plus I am getting "dead" internet every day. I mean all the modem lights stay ON ... the modem logs don't register any disconnection at all... but the connection dies for around 30 secs (as if Ogero was switching routes) and then resumes by itself.
Also here are my tests:

256kb/s Ogero connection.

if you were testing this on your iPhone there's a proven bug that the ping is Definitely wrongZuZ wroteVisp sanayeh area

Ogero 512 @ 8.43 pm Beirut timing:

by the way, some one on facebook said that he's experiencing a new ip address range with Sodetel and it begins with the 94.xxx.xxx.xxx !!!
That happened 3 ~ 4 days ago and it may be related to the IMEWE

You can't have an HTTP ping of 32ms and you are lagging 45 ms to DSLAM
I'd say something is buggy in the speedtest java thing... I would run the test on pingtest.net to confirm..

Aside from those occasional freezes, I have been experiencing "bursts" where it appears my speed and latency are much better--then it goes back to its normal slightly sluggish self. Hopefully it means they are upgrading and working on stuff, but I don't know.Kareem wroteYou can't have an HTTP ping of 32ms and you are lagging 45 ms to DSLAM

Not great, not bad
Sorry for posting this but I was, like the majority here, suffering from the bad internet until I moved to the UK, and specifically to the Imperial College and then did my internet speed test

This is faster than copying a file on my PC

No big changes in speed

However, if you go to http://www.wunderground.com/, it will display the weather based on your ip address. Until the last few days, I had 3 places show up: Beirut, Houche-Al-Oumara, or London. Now, I have gotten Ras Beirut, Jbeil, and Tripoli. I just wonder if means whether they have added more IP addresses and mapped them out or some other unrelated or related reason.

I am sure that my ISP tricked speedtest, this can't be possible!!
The upload speed is very low and when I download a file I don't get more than 30 kB/s (128k private ISP)!!

@4peterkh4: it seems that your ISP is caching speedtest.net testing data, that is used to determine your connection speed.
