Recap of today's interview on VDL (voix du liban):
During a lively discussion between Nour Kaasamani & Fast Lebanon founder & volunteers (Mark Daou, Claude Jabre, Mohamad Chamas), the following has been stated:
- What has been achieved so far:
IMEWE is turned on, capacities have been distributed to ISP's.
- What is left to achieve:
ISP's distributing the capacities to the end-users. Thus making them accountable. (Getting what you pay for fully; getting all 512kbps if you pay for them)
The council of ministers should implement a new plan & pricing chart to improve speed and increase quotas dramatically.
Using caching systems and specific configurations to not utilize the international bandwidth and decreasing the national consumption.
In the future, there should be a good plan to improve the national infrastructure & to keep upgrading the international bandwidth by setting up more international cables and hooking up with old ones.
The interview will be posted online shortly for the ones who missed it
