Coming to Lebanon: Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation!

it's interesting to see what will win this battle in Lebanon:
Galaxy S2 from Samsung or HTC Sensation?

Now, over 6 months later, which of these 2 phones do you find more commonly in Lebanon?

NB: Unfortunately we won't find any tangible data or real numbers (unless we get amhaz or any of the big guys to participate in the forum). All I can ask for is your opinion and experience.

Around you, do you see more SGS2 or HTC Sensation?

Yes SGS2 more than Sensation . Rare are the ones who have Sensation. Like everyone who hears of dual core, think of SGS2 directly ( perhaps of the advertisements).

I think because "normal" people aren't familiar with htc phones
and Samsung are advertising this phone in every area in Lebanon.

Question to fellow Lebanese SGSII owners: Please open Settings / Language and Keyboard / Select Language. Is Arabic listed?

Mine doesn't have it. It seems, for some reason, that Lebanese SGSII are the European version instead of the Asian version. I met someone who bought his from KSA, and it had full Arabic support (as well as other Asian languages).

I wonder why CTC (Cherfan Tawil) would import phones to an Arabic speaking country without full Arabic support.

I love my Sensation more and more, it has a class that sgs2 will never have!
Just put each of them in a hand ad you will see what I mean...

Every review on the internet confirms that the galaxy s2 is better overall than the sensation.

depends on what deal you are getting, but generally speaking no as both are of the same tier some small +- on both sets.

hey guys ..iam new to android and really want to know what to buy now either samsung galaxy s2 or the htc sensation,,,i noticed from older posts that people like both phones and i just want to know whats the best between them just by giving me the disadvantages and problems that have been faced by one of these phones that makes it dominant to the other one

You really wanna google and see the different reviews there to make up your mind. the galaxy s2 is still arguably the best smartphone still winning gadget of the year award. having both the htc sensation and s2 at home i can tell you without a second thought to go for the s2.my bro wishes he did. keep in mind that this is my personal opinion and i have my reasons.pm me if you have any questions

I live in France, so I don't know about Lebanon 3G connectivity.

I owned a SGS2 for the past month, I have absolutely no complaints about it. So far.

I've owned both, and both are great. You should know that the interface of the sensation (sense) is way way better than the touchwiz of the samsung, i think its the best interface available on any phone. However, the galaxy s2 is a more powerful phone, very snappy, and the screen is so amazing. Overall i prefer the galaxy s2, but if you want the best software ( you have to try it to see for urself) go for the sensation.

thx alot man, i've tried the htc sensation and its interface is the best ,,but thats the only thing thats better than the galaxy s2...So iam happy to buy an s2 now ,,,the seller is goin to sell it for 470$ without a waranty but he will give me the flip flop leather cover for it :)

as beautiful as sense is to look at, it is way too ram hungry. i find it better to use one of the launchers available through the market. where are you finding it for 470$?new? best i could get was 520$ for it. i bought mine from private cell in dikweneh

Just use a custom Sense rom on Sensation to get more speed or...flash CM7 or MIUI rom and you will have a Sensation as fast as sgs2 (and better UI)

i'd really love to see this. having tried cm7 from alpha 6 to 10 and latest miui and android revolution hd on my brother's sensation, it hasn't been anywhere near as smooth as my galaxy s2. 3d games like blood and glory lag on the sensation while they run very smooth on my sgs2, and all fps benchmarks support this. example: egypt pro on gl benchmark2.1 runs smoothly at 55fps while it runs at 24 fps for him. please try to run it and report back.as i said before i'd love to make his phone faster but it's just not happening. tried a bunch of roms with custom kernel's including the bricked and faux kernels and overclocked the phone to 1.73ghz and still my 1.2ghz were much faster.
