i am in Clemenceau too next to mina el hoson central and with idm 2.3mb down and 2.3mb up speed i was getting latency for 600ms minimum,
now for sure if your going to ping IDM server you should get 80ms :)

not that this helps much, but when ogero first came and set up my 256kb/s cnxn for the first half month ish (they came on the 22nd of that month) i had a 80-90ms ping to google.

i would get 95ms in cod4 servers for example; it was godly, as soon as the next month began im getting the standard 120-140ms

as per topic; although i feel sorry for what you went through, i really am happy you did this, and for the record 2.3mb/s is considered HDSL speed in Lb ... sad i know.

I'm currently in Montreal, looking to make the big move at the end of the summer. That talk about the government dropping E1 pricing to $400.00 could change my plans to order HDSL but we'll see whether it's true or not.

2.3/2.3 is an OK speed in my books, the upload is in line with what we have in Canada now. What hurts is the cap 8 GB is what I'd expect on a cell phone here, I do a lot of streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Justin) and use over 300 GB a month. That will cost a fortune in Lebanon lol.

I'm thinking of going with HDSL for my business voip+daytime use, I know they block voip but I will setup a VPN to bypass it. I'll get a 1mb sodetel connection to take advantage of unlimited nights and try to down my shows instead of streaming.

i just found that i'm taking internet from fibernet, did anyone hear about it??.
The guy that provides me with the internet connection told me to visit this site user.fibernetlb.com to see how much i've downloaded.

couldn't find any phone number or a website for the company. i need to contact them directly in order to know wtf is happening to my connection which is in dial-up mode :(
