abu-isaac Hello, I have an Iphone 4 from USA. It is jailbroken (using Cydia) and unlocked. It runs 4.1. I recently bought an MTC sim card, had it cut, and put it in the phone. The phone recognized the sim, asked for code, I typed "0000", and hit unlock. However, I can't make or receive calls. Any ideas? Perhaps the cut of the sim is wrong? Thanks so much for the time you take to help me. Ryan
EddieEC I don't think the issue is with the SIM, because mine was badly cut as well when I had my iPhone, but it worked. Try removing the PIN and reboot the device, since the iPhone isn't pin-friendly.
samer since the iPhone isn't pin-friendly. I have a pin code and never had a problem with the iPhone 4. However, I can't make or receive calls. Are you getting registered on the Network? (i.e., do you see MTC on the top left?)
thegodfatherdany I think you should get a friend who has an Iphone 4 and try his sim card on your Iphone and see if it works.
karim if the phone has been activated (both officially through att or hacktivated), when you insert a SIM, it will ask for a pin code in case there is one, and it will turn on normally, but it just won't register to the network. I'm guessing his phone is activated, jailbroken but not unlocked... He might think he's unlocked as he has ultrasn0w installed, but he is most probably on baseband 02.10.04 (since he's running ios 4.1) and his baseband is not compatible with ultrasn0w yet...
sailor i think your iphone is locked, but to be sure go to settings - general - about . and tell me the model number
