yep but without android hardware acceleration they would still suck.
I just did a head to head comparision browsing the same site without flash, just a list of thumbnails
between 3GS (which has a 667mhz) and Nexus S(1Ghz) and the experience is smoother on the iphone and very slow on the Nexus.
it really sucks having good hardware but the OS is not taking full advantage!

The Galaxy S2 will have a special GPU much more powerfull than iphone 4 ;)
Btw wait for HTC new Desire 2 and HD 2 specs that will show up in the coming 24h, I heard the Sense Android from HTC is faster than Samsung's Touchwiz (you can use a non-touchwiz custom rom though...)
Oh and I forget the much promising LG Optimus with 3D screen,and no you will not have to wear 3D glasses because they use the same technology than Nintendo 3DS

honeycomb does have hardware acceleration all apps will see big improvements, there is also a new version of android for smartphones codename "ice cream" to be lunched in few months that will allow hardware acceleration along side a major UI overhaul any many improvements to the android smartphone platform

@haidcar this is really nice :)
hopefully as I have the Nexus S, "ice cream" would be pushed first on it.

for all the people who are bored and annoyed with the lack of hardware accelerated browser download: Opera Mini Beta 10.1 from m.opera.com (choose other downloads).
Although it is still beta but it beats the hell out of the regular browser :) the experience is very smooth.
The sites I was trying before (that have a lot of pictures) are working perfectly and smoothly! the only problem is the lack of flash player :(

HTC releases were deceiving compared to Galaxy S 2 and Optimus 3D, personally I am waiting for the reviews of:
-Galaxy S2
-SE Arc
-LG Optimus 3D
-HTC Incredible S
I think the advantage of Incredible S will be it's sweet price compared to others

I read some posts online and it seems it is a problem with ADW and 2.3/Nexus S.
It is not only the animation speed, but it made the whole device slower. for example when you go from the Lock Screen and Scroll to Unlock the device will freeze for few seconds.
It seems that it needs more work.

I installed some nice stuff tho (Zeam Launcher is running smoothly and it is exactly what I need). And installed DialerOne which is rather nice.

The only problem is that google identifies I am in Lebanon so It only shows me Free Apps!

Until they fix this issue (Country Ban) I am downloading cracked apps (and there are many!) and testing them.
PES 2011 IS nice (better than the iphone).

Installed PSX4Droid V2 and it emulates the PS1 correctly! Playing Crash Bandicoot 3 (altho it slows down from time to time).

What I really like is the openess of the system :) I might root it to flash with a rom that supports arabic (if I find a decent one!)

have you ever tried applanet market?
it unlocks many paid programs, for free - something like the cydia
also you can have arabic language without rooting your nexus
but if you do so, then you can't root it
