that is a part of the openess, you can use something
and you can miss use something and make it look pretty.
licensing policies defines the rules of engadgement in regards to
obtaining and using. it does not define strategy and intentions.
"one more browser"
There are currently plethora of browser variants with each complying
and defying a set of standards. for a browser to function today,
it needs to do both, otherwise, its a product for the future, not for
today.
"web developers having to suffer"
anything that doubles your work is a burden. one of the reasons why
coders are favoring framework tools and not individual languages.
"Code once => port to many". for example:

"I haven't seen Google force any of its proprietary standards into Chrome."
not an actual question of forcing but the question of "leading".
H5 is w3c standar yes, google is adding it with a twist. microsoft used
to get flamed for such. google is being praised for such :P
Google already posses too much "big brother" info about each of us.
another reason to brake the monopoly. I dont want to live in an age
where some company makes a profit of letting another company know
when and where I take a shit for them to market and sell their products.
I use a given product for a given reason, I chose it. I dont want someone
else to choose it for me!
