Hello guys, i would like to ask if someone has ever bought an HP laptop and has had battery problems ?
Not due to overuse or something like that, just 1 - 2 months after buying the laptop.
Now i would like to ask, has someone ever replaced that battery during the warranty period , and a couple of months later, the battery fails again ?!!!
Well i am the owner of an HP Dv6-2020ev (Core i7), and now i am out of the warranty period to replace my failing battery (for the second time), and i advise everyone not to buy HP laptops.
Note that i have 2 other Toshiba laptops that are older and still work perfectly fine till this moment.
Any opinions are welcome. (Especially ones that lead to cheap battery replacements for my laptop :P)

Yes yes and yes.
I have a dv8 i7. Everything about it sucks, worst purchase I've ever made.

I too am having a bad experience with HP.
My g62 i3 overheats like crazy. I barely can watch videos. Am buying external cooler.
Also I had some (minor) problems with sound card drivers.

i try avoid buying laptops form lebanon because they are ALL refurbished ... even if the dealer tells you its not , trust me it is
my laptop is fine nothing wrong with it, its been with me for over a year now

HP laptops are known lately for battery and Uber-Ultra heating problems.
I was trying one in a store, and I could not rest my hand to type from how hot it is.
I am planning on buying a new laptop and I recommend the following brands: Toshiba, Dell, Gateway, or Acer.
They have been offering some quality laptops with good prices (except for Dell) !

I am, too, having the same problem, I bought an HP notebook from around one year and after 3 months I started having battery problems, however I am not having any heating problems whatsoever .

How on Earth can you base the quality of HP laptops on laptop you bought that just happened to be full of shit? I really, honestly doubt HP makes laptops with the intention of filling them with shit, as convinced as you may be.

Their laptops' chassis codename is "DeepHeat" !

Have you ever used an HP laptop before? If not, please do not try to defend a brand name that definitely comes short of its promised value each and every time.
I had an HP Pavilion dv9000 which got screwed due to over-heating problems. That thing heats up like crazy! Next time I'm going for a Toshiba.

HP's overheat ! 100%
Just a related question. The mac's are slim so why don't they overheat like other laptops?? ^o)

you can agree as much as you want. I got my HP DV5-1199ee from dubai and have shitty battery lifespan, weird bullshitty extreme overheating (yes cant even touch the keyboard from all that heat), and most importantly SHITY SHIT PLASTIC SHIT LOW QUALITY CHASIS. My mouse pad buttons are broken from inside (the springs just popped off one day) and closing the LCD screen makes a strage squeeky sound.
F*CK stupid HP. And by the way, my friend got his HP DV6 from here, and another friend got his HP DV6 from USA. Both have the same low quality plastic chasis; and freakin suprisingly, the 3 of us have the same mouse pad button problem. No more low quality HP bullshit; I am only using it to watch Bluray movies otherwise the laptop is useless.
I'm going for Apple macbook pro; seriously aluminum chassis and cooool temps.

@Zusynoid-x
I am talking about HP USA and HP Canada since I live in Canada now.
HP laptops, WORLDWIDE, and generally speaking, are of low quality for the last couple of years! (heating, battery life, etc...)

My HP tm2 is great. Never overheats no matter how much I tax it, and the battery life is good. No complaints here.

I bought a Pavilion dv5-1130ee 2 years ago, It overheats on programs/games no doubt.. but the battery lived for 2 years despite the heat.. then I had to buy a new one :/
other than the overheating I can't complain. I'm thinking about what my next laptop will be, hopefully these comments won't influence my choice :S

I have a bottle of HP sauce. It's not that bad.

I remember I read an article about a study of the effect of Laptop Over-heats on males. What I remember is that after 10 to 20 min of using it while its heated, the male is in a danger zone. His testes/sperm will not tolerate the heat and then he would have low sperm counts and sexual problems (I thought this would be related to the over heating issue)
Just a warning fellow lebgeekers ;).
I'll post a link if I can find it again.

Yes, I have. And as far as this thread and its OP are concerned, so far as I have one HP laptop without the symptoms he has described, he makes no plausible argument, and my questions still stand.

Yeah, but that's old news. Same thing with keeping phones in your pockets all the time. Balls get smaller or less sperm count or some such shit. Just stick your phone in the little gap between your ear and head.

Well Tako with all due respect to your opinion, you're just defending HP because your laptop is in a good condition (which seems to be rare based on the complaints posted in this thread ), and i'm pissed off from HP because i have a shitty one.
Besides,
Tako_400 wrotelaptop you bought that just happened to be full of shit
why does my laptop has to be full of shit since HP products are so awesome ?
when i paid for it i don't remember ordering any shit inside it, yet somehow shit is all in my laptop.
