I'm not even a fan of racing games, and I'm getting this. 1000+ cars that include rally, formula 1, and karting ? I'm in !
See you online :p

@megacool the reason i got a 360 is because of xbl , fact that i got sick of ps, and my cousin has a ps3 and i didn't really like it , and because of halo and gears and other exclusives , the lst reason is that 360 games are cheaper , my friend should get gt5 as soon as its released , so i will try it and give my opinion about it.

Gran Turismo 5 Review (Reviewed by Just Push Start) Not a Hardcore review but what confused me is the graphics section, what do you think???
Hamboza
@ Kareem, i does not agree with the review nor do i find it reliable, i'll just wait for IGN's. for starters how can they claim that the graphics are not so good when even the Prologue GT from a couple of years ago was amazing, just improving on that would make it a games with amazing graphics, but i don't know about the NFS comparison cause anyways EA are known for titles with high-end graphics. As for the excessive installation, they already mentioned that the game needs a lot of space to install and that's why they created a feature where you can let the game install as you play instead of just pressing install and waiting, and anyways installation is a one time thing it's not like we're gonna be installing everyday.
like i said i'll wait for IGN's review, but not Gamespots' cause i've been hating their reviews for quite a while now and i think they're s**t.
Ruroken
Eurogame gave it 9/10. For a game that has been in development for 5 years, anything less than a perfect score is a disappointment.

Yeah i have to admit that GameSpot's reviewers are a bit biased, siding with Xbox 360.

Gran Turismo 5: Installation Analysis

just push start arent reliable enough , ign overscores stuff , gs can be harsh , the games has to get 9.5-10 to be critcally a success.

Just got the mass message from NINO today.
Gran Turismo is available.
MegaCool
Who cares what some guy/opinion have to say?? this is GT5..no need to see what reviews have to say.
"IGNorants" gave it 8.5/10 though, theyre well known for being biased toward MS..
@xterm
thats awesome news.
Hamboza
I already got it, installed it, and played some...and i have to say that any rating lower than a 9.0 is blasphemy. This game is just awesome at what it does best...being a real driving simulator, this is not arguable. But i don't like the fact that already you have an update waiting for it which is about 130mb i think, but i guess this update-at-day-1 thing is getting into all the games, what's up with that?!?!?!?!
now i only have to try the 3d part of it, haven't tried it yet...

i agree, and with Kareem too, it's like the only reliable thing left is some of the user reviews and opinions, lately, whenever i am checking a review of any game over big sites like GS, IGN, etc. it always smells fishy. like sometimes they push down a game for having one small detail wrong, and the next day they review another game without even mentioning that detail which is supposedly they care about too much, example:
MOH, everyone, and especially gamespot went on about the graphics and how it was less than excpected, next thing you know, Black Ops comes out and guess what, they do not even mention how much the graphics suck especially on the console versions, i mean the graphics sucked so much that even if the whole game was to be amazing, just because of graphics alone i would lower it down 2 points or something.
kareem_nasser
@Hamboza How was it in 3D? I dont know if you are a keen eyed videophile but is the HUD just seems to be in 3D or everything is built native for 3D?

IGN gave Forza 3 a 9.4/10, although GT5 without a doubt blows Forza out of the water in terms of everything,
anyways since you got your copy, how does it feel?? are you using a steering wheel?

Gran Turismo 5 Review (IGN)
Hmmm i didn't digest it yet but i think all those reviews are just behind one idea:
It has been in developement for half a decade this isnt what we(They) expected.
I think Hamboza should try to give us more feedback.

GT5 critic score
This is stupid:
Head2Head: Gran Turismo 5 vs. Forza 3 Analysis
And this guy had the best comment which is true:
atrimus wroteto be fair GT5 has a bit more going on than Forza 3; higher resolution, more polygons, more cars, more cars per track, etc. i think it’s commendable that it achieved what it did, considering all it offers.
Yamauchi: "The Beginning Of A New Era For Gran Turismo"
Hamboza
I so wanted to give more feedback yesterday but the electricity went out twice in one night, then my internet stopped and i had to refill my account...etc...
Anyways, So i was finally able to update GT5, play some more, and check out the 3d function.
1st, in terms of driving experience and what this game offers, it is pretty damn good, and yes i did try a driving wheel (though i don't have a high-end logitech one), but using a driving wheel felt more natural like it was ment to be used, and you can see that in the hardware options where they have put some ready-made configurations for different sets of driving wheels. So for the people who are looking for a good driving simulation experience, you know this is the game for you.
2nd, some of the nice features in the game are your homepage, you get to setup your private place where you can customize your display picture, wallpaper, theme, color of clothes for your driver, etc. There is also this sense of community involved where you can choose to display the times of when do you login to play and then choose to display this time either for friends only or for the public, including greeting messages. So it was made for people to login and check out your page. There are even more customization details but i still didn't get to check them all out.
3rd, after installing the 8gb data of the game on the hdd, loading times do decrease, but are still there. One annoying thing i found was not the actual loading times of between races and menus, but there was this annoying type of glitch or something, when i went into options i clicked to change the option from Miles to KM and just clicking that made me wait a lot but it didn't look like it was loading it was like a freeze or something, this happened to me a couple of times.
4th, the 3D, NO, not everything was built native for 3d, and the 3d felt like just a small add-on that was implemented later on during development, much like the 3d felt in COD Black Ops. Yet, it's not only the HUD that looks 3d but actually it doesn't look as much 3d-ish as the cars, and so only the cars looks in 3d and not even the environment. It's sad, cause they do have some nice options for 3d in the option menu. So 3d is not really something you buy this game for cause it is not well done, and does not add anything to your gaming experience like some games do, games like Motorstorm, amazing in 3d, this one, NOT, cause seeing only the car itself in 3d is not enough.
one more thing regarding those reviews saying "It has been in developement for half a decade this isnt what we(They) expected" i think there is 2 faces to this argument, I can say that they might be right and an even more superior product should have come out after all this time, but then again, are we rating and reviewing a company for not offering they're product on time??? NO, this is not the point, cause having a game take that much time in development doesn't mean that it's gonna be better because it took its time, they should stick to reviewing the final product as it is and shut the * up. Because if people continue down this road, they are gonna be killing a lot of game to come, imagine 2011 when Duke Nukem is released, what then, they're gonna give it a 5.0 cause it has been 10 years?! sorry for being redundant, by i personally believe that it's only my business to rate and judge the final product, and this final product (GT5) is damn good one.
al_jamal
i read alot now that ppl are disappointent from the game, and that there are only about 230 cars with each varitions so it comes to the number of 1000

Eurogamer interviewed Kazunori Yamauchi, and guess what he said about 3D?
Kazunori Yamauchi wrote3D was not something that was implemented at the last minute. We were working and testing with Sony two years ago. I think 3D technology right now is at a stage where it just has a lot of possibilities.
I was questioning how viable it is to add an effect to the gameplay and the reason I felt like that was, back in the eighties, I loved movies and a lot of 3D movies hit the screen and I felt it was limited. I thought 'this was it' and there would never be anything more.
But my thinking has changed since we've had the chance to work with 3D. And now I think it could be quite an advancement for mankind, really. The reason I say that is, in the history of mankind, starting with cave wall paintings, through oil paintings up to modern photography, everything we've left as a record has been in 2D.
For the first time in our history we're reaching a stage where 3D images are becoming possible. The effect of this is not something we can really come to a quick conclusion on – it has an infinite number of possibilities.
Hamboza
while i do agree with my buddy Kazunori Yamauchi that 3D is something awesome and not be taken lightly at this point of time, and really i don't, i already play 3d games on my pc and ps3, but i still think that the 3d in GT5 is not very special, while it can be fun just for the hell of it, but it is not something that makes the game look better, give it an advantage, or add to the gaming experience. I wish it was as good as the 3d sony has put in Wipeout HD, Motorstorm, or even Stardust HD, did anyone even get to see Stardust HD in 3d, that game was awesom as it is and in 3d it just blew my mind.
