  • In need of some broken DVD-R drives !

Hello geeks, im in need of some broken DVD Writers. Laptop drives and normal PC Drives will do as long as they are also DVD writers :) They will be donated to the good cause of making a burning laser :P
I can come and harvest the drives from your door step ! Thanks in advance !
Oh and if you think that you might have any other broken hardware that you want to get rid off and think that their internal parts would do me good, i would love to have them ! :)
my man! I have an old 17" CRT monitor that I would love to donate in the name of science. The monitor works, so I am sure the inner components are working as well. Whenever you want it, I is ready :)

I have an old CD Drive that still works I guess, would you take it?

I won't be donating any blurray writer for that purpose...
Imagine 10 years later, 2 old men from CIA knocking on my door and asking about that DVD wirter i donated to you and saying:
"Dear sir, we have received a message from a far away galaxy nagging about a laser beam created by a highly advanced machine - which we think it was a DVD writer and modified by a friend of yours. We also knew that YOU donated this DVD writer to this scientist for what he claimed, 'a good cause'

One of them finishes by saying:
Dear sir, i have to inform you that you are under arrest for helping a human to create a machine that threatened our galactic security"
Well, i guess my answer is NO ! i won't take that risk Jad. Apologies.

Not sure I have a dead DVD-R but I have lots of the rest. Even decade old CD writers :)
Oh btw, now that I remembered, I have an IBM DVD-Rom if you want it. It died 2 Months ago (after 15+ years of service). That Good 'Ole drive. RIP :(
What about laptop drives? my bro's laptop's drive is kindof dead / totally unreliable... would it work?? i'd love to make it into a lighter though hahahaha
Can a drive laser be transformed into a really hot cutting laser? That would be interesting :)

OR, you can combine the monitor and dvd-rom and get urself a good microwave :p
Lol. Cool. But please be careful, CRT monitors are very dangerous. Their capacitors hold a deadly pack of electricity.
Ok i have good news for you dude! A friend of mine apparently has a bunch of old DVD drives he wants to get rid of!!!! I'll post as soon as i get my hands on them! prolly tomorrow or the day after..

Of course :-) They take up space, yet I do not have the heart to throw them away.
I also have a couple of defective hard drives, if you ever need some precision 5000+ RPM motors.
I think you could build a robot out of this hardware :)

Mrclass, i can make some additives for the robots with them :) i primarily want the lasers for now :) and will leave the motors, gears etc for later projects :)
