  • No winter,no snow,no ski this year?

It seems we will see some lights in the end of the tunnel :)
Monday will be rainy with a vey strong drop in temperatures, snow will even cover +1800m during night.
Some climate specialists are predicting another long and cold storm between the 10th and 15th then somewhere between the 17th and the 23th.
They are claiming that the warm wind pressure that was blocking the Mediterrannean sea from getting cold storms is on the verge to collapse...
Halleluiaahhhh !
The weather storm strikes ^^
Rain is here
Beautiful weather today.
xterm wroteBeautiful weather today.
Yes, beautiful weather today.
But sadly, few accidents occurred on my way to the university today - Red cross was suffering under the rain to help injured people. and hopefully, no one is dead.
My house have direct undeground water supply... water last month become extreme salty (calcium), this means water supplies was near end. I hope upcoming rains will refill all water storages.
Can you imagine Beirut without undeground water? And what will happen.
no ski will be insignificant... is there any organization monitoring water supplies?
The rain ''should'' continue till tomorrow night even wednesday morning!
Snow is already on the cedars slopes, Faraya dunno but it should be snowing on upper part of Jonction slope and + and on all the slopes at night.
Sinon another storm will hit Lebanon on Friday for about 4-5 days, the temps in the start will be close to the ones we have now but starting saturday afternoon the temps will drop about 2-3c and expected snow fall is about 20-25cm in one night!!
Hopefully after the next storm we should have enough snow to begin skiing :)

Just monitoring, doing nothing about it though.
I heard the lovely sound of a mild storm last night. Don't you love that, being in bed and listening to a storm outside?

What do you guys think of the fires that have been plaguing us lately? Sounds to me like dry trees & grass + trash (like glass bottles) = easy recipe for a fire.
I thought it was a horrible loss. I hope reforestation efforts will be undertaken by the govt. Our akhdar was already in bad shape.

That's Lebanon for you right there.
Lovely weather for sure.
God bless the Winter!!
Why would someone do that? Just pyromania? Or maybe someone who stands to benefit from it... potential land owners? foreign countries?

/me looks around suspiciously
I think there is a law forbiding people to construct in mountains if there are trees,so they pay a syrien 10$ and tell them to burn the forest so they can say no trees left to the baladiye :(
They must do a new law that imprison anyone who construct a building after a forest fire in the same land...
It was nice to see it rain today, I really enjoyed the sound and smell of rain as I was waiting for my class outside alone, there was no sound but the sound of some heavy rain it was like a symphony :) I hope we always have such a cool weather until spring.
